I run Sidewinder and Backyard basher. They are both 20% nitro but Sidewinder is a race blend with less oil and performs a bit better. They are both made by Morgan Fuels and perform awsome.

Brand is not the only thing to consider!!!!!!!! I run and like O’Donnell Race blend but will not run there RTR blend. Oil content is the biggest thing to consider and I will not run anything over 11% content.

20% O'Donell

Have tried Trinity and liked it but the LHS stopped carrying it. Fantom fuels are also good fuels but once again my LHS stopped carrying them.

its a fact the anything above 8% oil content is a waste and can cause lean running due to smoke and oil spitting from exhauste....[>:]

Although I agree that anything more then 8% oil content is a waste. But the more oil content in the oil does not cause your enigne to run lean. Running lean is due to not enough fuel to the air mixture, and not the oil escaping from the exhaust. Now some noobs can over lean an engine due to having high oil content (the fuel) does not offer as much power, so they tend to lean it out till they get the power they want. Now they have a lean running engine that still spits out as much smoke as a race blend fuel does. And running it lean causes premature wear and kills the engine. But the engine does not run lean due to the oil not coming out of the exhaust, it's due to not enough fuel for the amount of air that is being introduced to the engine.

Default RE: what fuel do you use

Most are say a brand but not a blend!!!!!! Sidewinder makes 3 blends I know of Basher VERY HIGH oil content Race which is about 12% and Pro around 10% like so many other fuel manufactures! So it is not all about brand but all so the blend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read and learn.

Why 8% to 12% Oil

Using high oil content fuels in fuel car engines won't provide improved engine life, as some would expect. Through extensive testing we've discovered the point of diminishing return as far as oil content to engine life is actually around 8% for most car engines. In other words any more oil than 8% in the fuel does noting to improve the life of a car engine. In fact the secondary effects of high oil content fuels can actually cause engine damage by encouraging over lean runs. Here's how.

Using high oil content fuel causes a car engine to be unresponsive during acceleration acting as if the engine were running rich. Typically when using high oil content fuel, in order to get crisp acceleration and response, an engine will need to be adjusted overly lean. In addition the high oil content prevents lean bog when an engine is over-leaned thus allowing the engine to run at this lean setting without the customary telltale lean bog warning letting you know the engine is overheating.

In summary, high oil content fuels don't give added protection. The point of diminishing return from a protection standpoint in a gas car application is about 8% oil depending on the oil type and engine. Anymore oil than this doesn't offer added protection and has potential secondary effects that reduce performance and can actually cause you to over lean your engine in an attempt to get crisp throttle response and acceleration.
