i have a jato 2.5 and its really hard to start then it runs quick for a few runs and gradually gets slower and slower until it can only manage about 2mph it cuts out at idle and ive just had it tuned ive only had it 5 months and i look after it well its only been through about 2 gallons could it be something other than the piston and sleeve.

Wow, thats wierd. At first I was suspecting your clutch but the idle thing confuses me. Does it cut out at idle all the time or just when the truck gets slower?

Sounds like it might be loosing compression. The hotter it gets the slower it goes, take the engine apart and check for any damage. Check for wear or scorring on the piston and sleeve.
