Yea this forum has some helpful people on it. If you log on here a lot u will learn who knows a lot stuff and who just throws in their 2 cents. This is probably one of the best sites for nitro trucks I've ever been on. Also before I forget, when you open up your transmission, look at the bearings it has inside on the walls of it. If it looks like a brass washer(also called a "bushing"), get that out of their and invest in some transmission bearings. Bearings make life 10x easier, and the only REAL time u would use the bushings is when you are driving on sand a lot(they don't have the small balls in them to get messed up.) Also you may find bushings in the front wheels, which is fine if you are bashing around the yard, but if u ever plan on racing replace those with bearings.
Links to the bearings(if u don't already have them):

Now, Ive been out of the hobby for a bit and haven't cruised Towerhobbies.com that much. I THINK those bearings up there^^^^ will work for the RC10GT correct? Because I think those are the ones I have in mine.

it will be soon with the CVR ! ! [8D]
Don forget to use a lot of grease on the gears too, the RRP parts come with some, and while your at it rebuild the diff, using associated diff grease.

Yeah, I did the p/p myself, it's the 4th motor I've done...
I haven't ran mine yet either lol, I got in trade and got a pretty good deal.. it just needs some TLC but it came with a lot of upgrades and a bump box - traded a STS .28 and a servo for it, not bad I think, looking forward to having a ST to run again

Is the p/p hard to do? i heard it is if you dont know what your doing =/
how much more power do you get from it?
sounds like a good trade haha, when do you expect yours to be up and running?

This is the 1st time I've done small block, so I'm not sure what the effect will be yet... but, on the big blocks I've done, I noticed quite a bit of low end gains, top end was about the same (maybe a hair better), mainly just had more torque though...
Porting and polishing is not hard imo.. BUT.. 1st- you need to read a lot, do tons of research before you jump into it so you have an understanding of what you're doing.. 2nd- you need a steady hand.. 3rd- you need a Dremel with the right tools.. 4th- I'd start on a motor that you don't care about to practice on.... [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5226191/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm]here[/link] is a good place to start, there's tons of info on the net though...
and last... I wouldn't worry about doing it to your new motor, you're going to have tons of power on tap already
.... If you really want to give it a shot, I'd mess around with motors you don't care about, that won't be a 'loss' if you mess up (piston and sleeve anyway)...
Mine should be up and running by the weekend, if all goes well...

Alright thanks alot man, ive read a bit in the past but that was a few years ago.
im new to nitro, this is my first nitro, (rc10gt) the only nitro i driven was my buddies
Revo, which was a while ago.
yeah im hoping to have my Rc up and running by this weekend or early next week
thats if i get the things from ebay, i just ordered them last night which is all paid for.
then i did towers order as well yesterday, so that should be here in a few days.
and im hoping a can get the break in of the new motor, and then some, with the stock gears before
replacing them.

So i think i bought the wrong engine i ordered
[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXGGP7[/link]
when i should of gotten
[link]http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGGP8&P=ML[/link]
will the first engine work with the Rc10gt,
or am i gunna have to return it and get the other one?
So if its the wrong one, i basically have to wait longer, since id have to send it back and order the RIGHT one. Ugh, i hate waiting...[:@]

You can use that first engine but you will have to cut the shaft down untill everything lines up. The second engine is already cut to the right length, you just need a clutch nut.
