well i would say go with a O.S .18 cv-r or a O.S .18 tz.. they both have good power they are cheap engines and very very reliable and extremely good..

the TZ packs more punch than the cv-r and the tz has morepower then the 2.5r

Piney you could put an 18TZ in it but you shouldn't unless you just want insane power. the CV-R is a perfect engine and more power than you need in a Rusty

Piney...what`s wrong with a 3.3 ? Krazy pwr...hold`s a tune inexpensive and a awsome warranty..and it bolt`s right in ! My bud has a Rusty with a 3.3 and it`s INSANE...!

Nothing is wrong with the 3.3 I have a 2.5r now and just wanted something different. As for the big block I want a new mill not a new mill and trany! But thanks for the suggestion hayabusagreg.

The TZ packs more punch than the 3.3 anyway, is more reliable, and is less expensive.

Why not a RB v12 or OS .12 tz? They wont suck as much fuel as the .18 will and for a stadium truck, has more than enough kick. Unless you like running wide open throttle for a block or 2, flipping it and then running it down.
I have both engines and they are top shelf engines. The traxxas 2.5r is mid shelf, traxxas put that pos plastic carb on it and its the weak point. Cracks and you spend days tryn to figure out whats going on with it. Easy fix, OS .18tm carb off of ebay for 20-30 bucks and it runs all day and the next flawlessly.
