just getting started car will idle for a few second then peak out for no reason can anyone help

OK more info. What kind of RC? What motor, fuel, how old is rc, did you just get it, have you had it and then it just started running bad, Do you have a temp guage, have you changed plugs, etc..... We cant go by it starts then peaks. What does that mean?

is it inconsistant? like idles high, then low, then normal? if the engines newish and the plugs fine then it sounds like an air leak. if its kinda old then u mite need to take your engine apart and see if it needs a rebuild.

Brand new Truck, only got it yesterday. Its a Land Overlord, 3 Channel reciever with throttle trim,27/28 engine, 20% Fuel. Started up and idled for a 20 seconds, then just went ape ****, and revved it's guts out.... No temp guage, Just trying to get it to idle consistantly so I can run it in.

break it in, then see if it still does it. if you didnt break it in or didnt do it rite then thats where your problem is.

Can I break it in revving that hard tho? I am hesistant to start it again as the manual says to run it in idleing, if it won't idle consistantly will that do damage?
