Jato guys. Need your opinion!
I got a new tire and wheel setup but not sure if it looks good or not. I have different combinations that I can do. I bought 4 ProLine Dirt works, 2 off raod ribbed and 4 black dish wheels. I can either use all 4 dirt works, and black dish wheels / 2 dirt works, 2 ribbed and all 4 black dish / 4 dirt works and chrome proline wheels or 2 dirt works, 2 ribbed and 4 chrome proline wheels. Here are some pics of the dirt works with ribbed front and black dish. And pics of my bigger tires with the chrome wheels I can use. Whats your opinions.

RE: Jato guys. Need your opinion!
So the black wheels are a go? I dont think it will reall matter what tires are on front. I know the ribbed works great on the front because I have used them on my rc10. I figure I would use the ribbed tires on front and dirt works on back. That way I have 1 extra set of dirt works for the rear once these wear out. I like the bigger tires but for racing I cant use them and it does not handle as well as the smaller ones do on the track. I will use the bigger ones for bashing and messing around but for track I nees a better tire. I just was not sure about the black dish wheels. Maybe I can paint the chrome ones black. I bet that would look good.

Yah I know. I am looking for the best handling and good looking setup. I cant leave well enough alone. I hate it when non jato owners say the JAto does not handle well off road. I know thats not true. You just need teh right tire and suspension combo. Power can be controlled.

i was told the front groves are mainly for racing and wear fast. So because you bought them just use them and then from then on out run 4 dirt works. I run 4 dirts works on my jato.

idk...bead locks are meant to hold the tire in using screws...and glue if you want some insurance
if you look at NHRA dragsters, the back tires have beadlocks. i have yet to see this on any other racing series, which can only mean they are doing good, especialy at 330mph

Nick,
Thats what I have the trx dish wheels although they cost me $10 for all 4 at my LHS. Also how well do they work on hard pac and how long do they last.

actually i mostly run on pavment so my dirtworks are pretty new. Only like 5-10 tanks on them. I think they worked well on hard packed dirt.
Edit: it makes it sound like i run the dirt works on pavment which would kill them fast. What i mean is i use my other tires alot more.

what do you use to dye rims, just curious
i was looking at some grp blocks....they look almost the same as dirt works, so they should be pretty close, and i know grps are supposed to be pretty good tires

RE: Jato guys. Need your opinion!
I recently changed color of some Proline wheels. I used spray oven cleaner to remove the chrome. Wheels appear to be a styrene plastic similar to what plastic models are made of. I used Underhood black paint from Eastwood Products, preceeded by a treatment of a spray that promotes adhesion of paint to plastic. Do not use enamal, it is not fuel proof, and doesn't stick very well..
Pics do not show wheels very well.. You get the idea......
