im only a basher, so handling doesnt matter that much, but i HATE 2wd's only cuz they spin out under braking. today...comin down the street at full speed. hit the brakes and it spun out...no big deal, til it became slightly airborn and the back tires wer off the ground. so that means i have no braking power wat so ever. wen it came down 10ft later it hit head on into a mailbox. sooooo, now im mad, and thinkin bout getin rid of my jato

ANOTHER "What should I buy thread"?

What's this? the 5th one this week? There's a bunch of other guys with the same thread, have you read any of them?

Anyway, I'm with Oliver, except I'm suggesting the GT2 over the older GT.

I also recommend the HPI MT2 18SS+ kit. Nothing like good ol' 4WD to at least have some control. Or at least more than a 2WD vehicle.

I recommend a Toyota 4 runner and if you get one, drive your sorry butt to your LHS and get an electric train. That should keep you busy enough to quit starting a new thread every other day and it would be more your speed than an ST because most of us are out driving them and asking questions about problems with them because we already made up our minds what we wanted[>:]

You cant ask what is best either because people have different opinions on what is best. Also no one knows what kind of terrain you are going to be on, if you are racing, bashing, etc... That is a loaded question. I think the Jato is best for on road but with some minor changes it is also great off road but not the best. The Revo is an awsome truck off road and for bashing. The savage is also a great basher. There are a thousand trucks out there. You need to figure out what kind of truck you are going to need for what terrain you are mainly going to be on. There is NO perfect truck. If you did your research on the forum you can narrow it down to a few trucks then start asking questions. Now do you want st, truggy, mt,on road, buggy ? What kind of driving will you be doing?

there is no best, there is only good and bad. it all depends on what you like in a stadium truck.

the traxxas nitro sport i wont even own on a bet. the nitro evader is a very good 2wd truck ready for bashing or add a little and it is competent for racing. i just now aquired a hpi rs4 MT with a cv-r 18 and it rocks! i like that is able to go over most everything and is much eaiser to controll. the jumping however, is less predictible than the nitro evader, so a lot of practice is neccisary. it is like a monster truck had a kid with a buggy.

what i dont like about the evader is that it gets a little tail happy with excessive throttle, what i dont like about the mt is that it takes time to get it to fly right, what i dont like about the nitro sport is everything. what i dont like about the jato is that it isnt a good racer, its just a wheelie machine.

the jato is for fun only, if popping wheelies constantly and doing high speed runs is your thing, get the jato.
if you like the joy of rear wheel drive power and the ability to go on the track, get the evader or the rusty.
if you like to go off roading or just want something that is easy to handle and feels more like a buggy go with the mt2
if you like garbage go with the nitro sport.
i cant tell you about the losi because i never drove it.

remember, even when a basher you will always want something to handle better as it is more fun with some thing shure footed.

The Jato isnot just for fun. With some minor changes it can be very good on the track. I have the 3.3 Jato and a 2.5 Jato on the way. One is going to be for the track. I think im gonna put the 2.5 in the 3.3 and thats going to be my track truck.

Imo if you want a truck that will go in all terrains get a monster truck. Thats not what a ST is designed for.

I have an aftershock for all around bashing and a jato 3.3 for the rest. But the jato will go almost anywhere the mt will.
