I want my jato3.3 to go faster . what engine to replace the 3.3
i feel that the trx3.3 in the jato has reached its limits . whats the fastest engine the jato3.3 spec can handle without mods to the car , or what mods would it need to reach speeds faster than the 3.3engine . please give me the exact brand name and spec of the engines you's have in mind . im not using it for racing . i use it personaly for insane straight line speeds . and if you have a pic of the engine that would be great .

belive it or not the 3.3 is as fast as you can go without modds............the OS 18TZ is realyl good too but its no faster than the 3.3 but will outlast it 100 times over..........for what u whant ur gonig to need a 21!!! size motor

No it wont be a direct drop in... As its a Big Block and the 3.3 and Jato Motor Mount is for a Small Block engine.... But if your modding it to fit a big block dont go with the HPI engines as they'r really expensive, just go with something like a LRP Z28R SPEC 3.. And dont go upto .28 it will be overpowered, and not driveable.. Go with a .21..

I put an OS .18 TZ eb modded in a jato 3.3 and it was about 10 mph faster with stock gears. Also it was alot quicker off the line.

that .18 does look faster than a 3.3 but not that much faster im going for a picco .26 in my jato small blocks havent enough power
and for people who say otherwise, i am going to film a high speed run to show, should be a couple of months though.

well im gonna have to do something about it soon cos the stock engine is getting tired and im not sure if i should re build it

You wont see or hear too much about someone installing a bigger motor in the Jato. Everything is already a very tight fir and its waayyyy fast enough with the 3.3. The tranny would not handle anymore power. Actually I dont think I have ever seen anything bigger in the Jato. The reason being is because with anything bigger than the 3.3 you have to use a different motor mount. Well the Jato motor mount is part of the tranny mount also. I think you can fit like a picco 21 or a os21 but you wont have a way to mount it. Anyone that changes the motor usually goes with an os 18. I just dont think a medium block would fit.

they make conv. kits, but like you said, unless you custom make drivetrain parts you will strip every gear nce you break 75mph if not before

take an already overpowered lightweight 2wd stadium truck with a small block, and then fit a bigblock engine in there just to go faster?....[&:] wow..

The 3.3 is anything but weak. Yes the 18tz is faster and more reliable but there is not anything else in a small block other than the os 18 motors that can beat a 3.3. The 3.3 is a decent motor except for using the 2.5 crank in the 3.3. I think thats the biggest problem with the 3.3.

i just dropped a .28 wasp in mine with the new era big block chassis. still tuning and have not radared yet. i will try and post some pics and a radared vid. i am accelerating gently, dont wanna blow the tranny.
