Default LRP .18 pro motor, any good?

hey lookin over RCmart and saw the LRP 18 pro motor, heres a link

http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/produc...ducts_id=20240

Just wondering if they are a good mill? Was aiming towards a OS18cvrx, but to get 1 i would have to make another order through towerhobbies.

How do u think they stack up against each other, OS18cvrx Vs LRP 18 pro

They are very close, the engine is built for torque and used on most of the Team Associates cars and trucks....................not a screamer but very reliable[&o]

LRP are very good engines just like the other engines SH makes. SH makes engines fro many companies including but not limited to LRP, Sportsworks, XTM and many others.

ya golden lion manufacture, XTM, SH, Dynamite, LRP, Sportworks, Nosram, i know most of there motors are basically the same.

Just wondering, what would outperform each other, i mean il be throwing it into my nitro evader, want to finally get it goin after sitting in my room for about a year without use due to a fried motor, i might just get the OS18cvrx from tower with a few parts and get 25US off, that way il get the motor and some parts for just over 100 US

OS 18 TZ but not sure your nitro evader will be able to handle it.

actually SH are part of golden lion, they arnt actually the manufacturer, just part of the large manufacturer called golden lion

I love t he LRP28 spec 3, im sure the LRP18 and OS18 would be quite similar in performance, maybe the OS a little more reliable. I might pick up a OS, if it dosnt tickle my fancy LOL il get a LRP12 for my NTC3

nah thought about that, a dude on the vader t hread has 1 in his, crazy, but he goes through CV shafts now and then lol, it just twists them and snaps the pins. I think the CVRX should do it good, most people with vaders have switched with the added protection of a alloy diff gear, the vader handles them very well.

Ive got my NTC3 for all out onroad

my Monster GT for BMX backflip use

The evader will be basically something i can use on my front lawn without pissing the neighbours of with the big block LOL

Yes the OS CV-R or RX will be plenty. I have among 19 others a HPI MT 1 ¾ with an OS 18 TZ in it and is way too much power. Took many changes just to get it where the drive train would hold together. Had to gear it up REAL high just to keep the front wheels on the ground most of the time.

yes, that 18tz is crazy. just sold one on ebay with only 1 qt of fuel through it. its low end power was stronger than my cvr18 engines, and the top end was totally violent. that thing would rev to the moon, way too much power for my 1/10th scales. im running all 18cvr engines again now. i actually destroyed my tranny so bad the last time with that tz, i had to replace the CASE!

In my opinion, the 18cvr is the best value in a small block engine, and has an awesome powerband, very very good engine.
