Default official "what to buy" thread

ok...all you noobs please read this before posting yet another "What should I get thread." This tells you pretty much everything you need to know before you make your purchase:

Bashing-
HPI MT2 18 SS
HPI Firestorm RTR
Traxxas Jato RTR
Nitro Evader RTR
X-Cellerator RTR
Accossiated RC10GT2 RTR

Racing-
Accossiated RC10GT2 Kit
Losi XXX-NT
HPI Firestorm

questions to ask yourself when buying:

1) Who will be running it, an experianced driver or a noob?
2) What does my LHS stock parts for?
3) When do you plan on running it, rain, snow, sun etc etc?
4) Where will you be running it?
5) Why are you running it, racing purposes, bashing, or shelf queen?
6) How will you run it, rough, smooth, show-off, ect ect?

more will be added as i get the info

Bashing my top choice is the JATO is fast and fun for both onroad and offroad..........for offroad it does need some other tires......... the MT2 would be my second choice becuase of the 4WD but if ur just messing handleing doesnt really matter..........

and as far as raceing goes your ONLY choice (in my book) is the RC10GT2............it has to be the single best racer ST on the market......but if losi parts are easier to get for you then it wouldnt be a bad idea to go for the losi........the jato is out of the questions they dont race very well and to get it "race legal" its gonig to cost way to much

hey!!! he forgot the nitro evader!! thats a good basher and racer, to race, update the engine, clutch, servos and shocks, and then you have a very competent racer (i would say much better than the jato)

and watch, thers somone going to post "what to buy?"[sm=bananahead.gif]

Bashing MT 2 18 SS as you just cannot beat 4-wheel drive hands down! Now if they had a 4 wheel drive stadium class I would all so use it to race. We use to have a small track here and I use to race my MT 1 ¾!

If I where to race I would get the Firestorm or the GT2! If I wanted a straight-line rocket is the only reason I would get a Jato then I probably would not get one.

dude, the nitro sport is a perfect basher, not slow, but not to fast. easy to start, and easy to fix/repair . not to mention. a 1.5 nitro sport can be bought for cheap.

well since this is the ST section it would be normal to only have ST type cars............besides as far as im concern i wouldnt recomend any other ST that isnt listed here......

GT2 has one of the best reputations on the market...............I like the kit but not the RTR its to slow...........but yes its a good basher as good as any ST............then again ST's are more of a track skill kind of thing and if I was to recommend anything to bash with it would be 4x4 and if your lucky enough to have access to a place up in the hills where you are I would darn sure get a 4x4[&o]Then again if your stuck down on the flats by the Bay which isn't bad just don't drive it in the bay.............lol but an ST would be good there.[:-]

I agree with the toxic if you don't want to help that's fine but if you are going to start an official what to buy thread and then just complain about how you hate the WTB posts. What is the point of that? Why not offer some info in this thread rather than just saying I like this truck with no reason why. I came into this section because I am looking for info on what would be a good ST for racing. But I guess I am used to the helpfulness and information of the people on the 1/8 scale boards. Hopefully someone will have some good information at some point here, and offer help rather than just complaining for the sake of complaining.
