The rustler is more than enough for a beginner. The JAto is a handful to handle and out of the box the rustler is better off road. I would say that if you are more advanced then put some good off road tires on the jato and have fun.

umm wow split desicions. umm. wow. i know on the rustler i need to get a few aluminum shock tower things and i think some new tires because the stock one get worn down fast. Does the jato need any replacements? Also do they cost about the same?

thank you

i think i'm leaning towards the rustler buck im still not too sure. cause the rustler is like around $300 i think and the jato is around $360 or so. But i like the speed of the jato but the rustler supposedly has better acceleration. i ve heard different stories and people who've owned both and like the "rusty" better because the set up is easy and the mateinence is easy. Ive also heard that the rustler is a piece of trash.I really dont know though. I guess im asking mostly, which truck is easier to maintain or which one breaks more if u use it not really for bashing but for fun around the yard our on a little path in the yard?

The rusty does not have better acceleration although it is very fast.

last question. is the jato's setup simple like the rustler or would it take a bit to work on the car and fix a problem if one occured?

The only thing that might make it harder to work on is the two speed.

ok. ive dealt with some tough things on a car before. ive also learned quite a bit so i think i might get the jato. A lot f people say the just cant break the rustler(except for the shock towers and caps) and its a great truck. a lot of people like the jato though and ive heard it one of those cars you will learn a lot from and get to be a better driver.

I don't own either car and i would say get the jato if your looking for speed. Cost for all these cars is relative to speed, size and handling. I will be getting an MT2 for my next ST. Don't worry about it being too mucht o handle just take it easy. If you have a remote with steering sensitivity that wouldn't hurt either. You want your steering sensitivity turned down for high speed pass's. Other than that they will be almost the same at lower speeds. You should buy 2.2 rims and a set of HPI Yokohama Geolanders for bashing in parks etc. The moabs are bigger but i think they are a softer compound and wear down quicker. You won't find an unhappy Geolander owner out there. I bet everyone who has geolanders will buy a second set once they finally wear out there first set.

here goes nothin

get the jato because you will be better off. i have a smaxx and can beat a rusty but the jatos beat me. if you want it ill sell you my truck something for it.

ok, so you are talking about a jato 3.3. im talking about a rusty 2.5(?). the 3.3 beats me, but i can beat the rusty 2.5, so get a jato.

its a little clearer but its still not very clear

the s maxx is not going to beat a 2.5 rusty. If it does then there is something wrong with the rusty. The rusty will hang with a jato up to about 45mph then its all over for the rusty.

i knew something was funny bout that. yea, s maxx top speed is 40mph while rusty is 50mph, and acceleration is bout the same way. the rusty will hang with a jato til the jato shifts, then its lights out
