get a MACH 427 and if u just wanna go fast and do no bashing get carbon fiber everything also get a dual exhaust as for gearing thats for you to experiment with.

what was wrong with the pipe. it increases my speed by 5-7 mph. IT ROCKS.

i dont need the dual rear exhaust. if you take the header off the motor rotate it 180 degrees so that its facing backwards all you have to do is put the pipe back on and secure it to one of the holes in the rear shock tower. now you have a rear exhaust system for the jato... its probbably kinda hard to understand but i will try to load a picture up soon to show you guuys

it is not as good as a dual rear exhaust. the resonator is plain and stock.

if dual exhaust pipes actually added performance, why are there NONE used on high performance dirt bikes?

2 strokes make their best power with a single tuned pipe, dual pipes don't perform as well, but some think that they look better

that is a dirt bike. it would not fit on dirtbike. + i never see the best motorcycle out ther, harley, with out a dual pipe. any way not about bikes. this is a tiny machine little things make a difference.

street bikes are 4 stroke motors

dirt bikes can be 2 or 4 stroke motors

a 2 stroke motor is very sensitive to exhaust design, and needs a tuned pipe to make good power

4 stroke engines aren't as sensitive to exhaust design because there is an exhaust stroke to push the burnt gases out.

while a dual pipe may look cool, and is fine on a 4 stroke engine, it hurts performance for the sake of style compared to a good tuned pipe on a 2 stroke engine

http://www.motorcycle.com/how-to/how...care-3423.html

that link is a good read as to why 2 stoke engines need a tuned pipe

but a rc car engine is different than that granite i don't like the dual exhaust cuz my resonator works just fine but if it didn't increase performance why would traxxas put it stock on the stampede which might i ad is a very good reliable truck

Whell, I think that 20/40 gearing is a must on the jato. It slows down the acceleration to something you can handle alot easyer. To lighten it you should get a pull or roto start, remove the role bar, remove the mud flaps, carbon fiber chassis if you want. For top speed you will want 1/8 foams (you will need 17mm hex adapters). For engines you will want the os 21tm or the sirio S23RE .23 (both have pretty high rpms)
links:
20t cb http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXPWF4&P=7 (this is 10 more than normal cbs but it is the only one that will work)
40t spur http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXHFR6&P=ML
pull start http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXDGG4&P=M
roto start http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXEVM9&P=7
cf chassis http://cgi.ebay.com/Traxxas-JATO-BLA...QQcmdZViewItem (I have it and it is awesome)
foam tires http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXKKF5&P=7
17mm hex adapters http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi...d&part_id=3244
os 21tm http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXRTM1&P=ML
or Sirio S23RE .23 http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/18963
Oh yea you will also need a new header for those engines http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXFBA0&P=7

basic principles of physics and fluid dynamics do not change on scale in this case

any 2 stroke engine performs better with a tuned pipe (which a dual is not)

the stampede has a dual, because if you're into high performance a stampede is the farthest thing from your mind
in the case of a stampede, style trumped performance

take a look at any of traxxas or anyone's high end nitro cars, and NONE of them come with a dual exhaust

yeh i guess ur right but the stampede does perform somewhat well for a .15 engine

replace the crappy rear exhaust with a nice small block side pipe on the stampede, and it increases the power immensly

J8to33,

Is that sirio S23RE a drop in motor on the jato stock chassis? I know it comes with a motor mount for the revo; however, do the holes on the engine match up with the stock engine mount on the jato? I know the OS .21TM is a perfect fit with the stock motor mount. I never hear anything about the .23 sirio motor in jatos on the forums. Most people talk about the OS .18TM, .21TM, TRX 3.3 or big blocks with the New Era conversion chassis.

It says that the sirio it is a drop in engine but it really isn't, whell not for the jato. But the 21tm is. I am going to get the 21tm when my 3.3 dies, whell my piston is black and the rod is red. I don't think I have much life left for this engine. Great, I need to come up with money to get it. Oh whell hopefully the 3.3 will last till the summer.

to make it lighter you could get rpm A-arms in front and back. and ou could also drop the eazy start and go with a pull start. hope that helps you
