In rare cases some rims will melt but most will not. I have boiled several rims with no problems. 
You can also bake them but it will stink up the house and have more of a chance to melt the rims or make them to soft so when you take them out they bend.

yeah im kinda broke and i broke the front rims so i just wanna get the rubber off to see how badly damaged they are but im looking into beadlocks, i've herd theyre way more durable???? is tht tru?

The tires stay on thread locks better but they break just like the rest...............probably the strongest are the dish models and some of the multi spoke ones also...........sounds like you need to do a bit more research..... Pulling tires of of rims is a pain.....................15 minutes to a half hour isn't worth $14.00 a set to me [&:]
