I'm thinking of getting the hpi mt2 very soon. I was going to start by getting the accessories this week, and then maybe the car next week, spread the cost out a little bit. Anyway one of the things on my accessories list is a glow igniter. I looked them up on towerhobbies, and some other sites, and there are a million different one's to choose from. So my question is what's the difference between them, and is there one to get and one not to get?
Thanks.
Thanks.

They will all start your engine. Even the ones with the plain non rechargable $7 C cell ones. It just depends how much you want to spend. I like the ones that you can recharge. One less battery to buy. And if you want you can get one with a meter if you want, but it's not necessary.

This one [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13&products _id=147]HERE[/link] is good quality and starts usually for more than a days outing [:-]

get one from dynamite with the meter with the rechargable battery the meter is a ohms meter and it pretty much tell u how much resitance is in ur plug more resistance the less its gunna heat up its nice to know cause then if it wont start u can check the meter and tell right away if it ur glow plug instead of guessing i think there about 30-40$$ i have one and i love it

I ended up with the Losi rechargeable from the LHS ($14 with charger). One nice thing is that it takes a standard Sub-C cell and you can easily replace it if ever needed by simply unscrewing the end and dropping in a new cell. I had a couple of others that had meters, but they were sealed, so after a number of years away from the hobby, they were junk. If I had the one I just bought, worst case would have been to buy a new cell for $3-$4.

The one I put up at the top is removable battery, only problem with the one I'm using is the battery hasn't gone bad in over 2 years of starting............its used 10 or 15 times a week in the winter and 50 to 80 times a week in the summer

My favorite is a Du-Bro Kwik-Start. Mine is teh smallest, a mini. Its rechargeable, but not user-replacable batt unless you were crafty with the shrink wrap. They are only 10-15 and work really well.
