Hey all, just having a little issue with my mt2. The front wheels seem to be working alot more than the rear, not sure of the deal but its driving me nuts! im new with this stuff. Seems like the front tires just spin while the rears barely move. If anyone has any ideas it would help alot. also the car has only 1 gallon through it so im hoping it wont be a costly repair.
Thanks, Simon.
Thanks, Simon.

it is set up like that from the factory for it to "slide" into turns better, if you want to change it around, then get some diff grease (oil) and start messin around with it[8D]

or your rear diff is knackered is it the t-15 engine or g3.0 if its the t-15 the diffs are completely rubbish they are made out of pot metal not designed to last long. most four wheel drive are setup to the rear like a 60/40 split to rear

how can i tell if the rear diff is wreaked? the clutch bell was wreaked so i ordered a new one from my LHS , but i still dont think that would have anything to do with it. do i pull the rear diff apart to check?

pull it apart completely and see if any the teeth are missing or worn down i had the same problem with mine had to replace with the hardened set from the 18ss mt2 and also shim them just to keep the teeth closer together another way to check is hold one rear wheel and spin the other one there should be some resistance not alot and the front wheels should move aswell also do the same to the front aswell.if theres no resistance you got a diff on the way out hope this helps these are the parts you want to check http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=86014 and this http://www.hpieurope.com/piw.php?lang=en&partNo=86336

i pulled it apart, cleaned it with break cleaner, re-greased everything, the parts all looked good. When i do the little spin test there is some resistance but not nearly as much as the front, i broke my clutch bell so once the new one comes in ill give it another try and see how it works. is there any adjustments i can do to make the tires have more resistance other than buying the new parts?
thanks again, simon

you may have to shim the diff if you look at this pic its the bits in red that need shimming it pushes the gears closer to give more resistence and it makes your gears last a bit longer the washers shoudn`t cost that much you could try the front diff in the back aswell and see if thats makes any difference once you get new clutch bell http://www.hpieurope.com/showimage.p...4/86014_15.jpg

when you had the diff of the car did you try to pull the drive cup theres 3 of them one to the gearbox and two the wheels if yes was there any play in it i mean did it move backwards or forwards this is a drive cup in silver you only want a slight bit of play if theres a lot then add another washer your not bugging me this will help you to gain a little experiance and maybe help someone else in the future

thank you so much for your help, i succesfully shimmed them, popped the clips back on(they were loose btw) and it seems there is alot more resistance, once my clutch bell comes in ill let you know how it works,
thank you very much!
