Default Which is more durable?

I'm going to get my first nitro ST. I was wondering which is more durable, the GT2, the Firestorm, or the JATO. I don't care about the speed, cause i know the JATO is faster, just which one has better gear box streeing part ect. And no smack talk please.

My experience with the RC10GT is good! today after 5 years the tranny went bad on me but hey!! I was going to reinforce it any way with Robinson Racing Idler Gear and Ball diff gear just my two cents

I have run a RC10GT for almost 5 years with little to no problems. When I get silly and do stupid things while bashing, things break, but this is user error and not the truck's fault. While I have not run the RC10GT2, I trust Associated used the same amazing parts and layout as they did on their GT. Good luck! =)

Dude there is almost exactly the same thread that is only a few days old. The info is out there. Take the good the bad and decide from there... [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7512088/tm.htm]Other Thread[/link]

firestorm may be the best but it is also the most expensive. Get a Jato and do some modding because for the same price of a firestorm u can have a modded jato that is faster and just as tough.

OK That makes more sense. A hellfire is more expensive than a jato but also much superior to a jato and I don't think there will be anyone to debate that. but they are also 2 different classes all toghether

wrong,

FACT: the most durable one is the one you don't drive into things at high speeds

durability is going to be about the same for all 3, maybe a little less for the jato due to it's higher speeds and harder to control nature

So your saying there is no such thing as driving away after you hit a solid obsticle at full speed??The Firestorm has done it a couple times.
Most of the time any ST will break, but the Firestorm is proven to be an "unbreakable"* ST.
My cousin's Firestorm got away from him and crashed in a tree at full speed!Drove away without a scratch.Someone on here recently crashed his Firestorm into a garage door at full speed.11$ to fix.
Another guy on here crashed into a curb at full speed.Bent his upper deck to amazing shapes, everything else was intact.I myself have jumped 15ft. airborne and didn't break a thing!
The point is,if all other STs would do all those things, they would have had more damage.
Just trying to point that out.

ive barrel-rolled my jato at 55-60 mph, the only thing that broke was my body...

of course the tranny gears took a dump the next day..

the firestorm is the best bet, good price, good quality, it has the best tranny (all metal)

either that or the firestorm's just going that much slower

there are so many variables in each impact, and how you hit the object is almost as important as the speed

a hit head on into a tree is far easier to survive than being a bit off to the side and having the whole impact absorbed by one wheel (guaranteed broken a-arm/steering parts)

either way, if you claim to be going 40 and hit a solid object and just drive off like nothing happens I call BS, if so, go get a video since hitting things at full speed won't break it.

I also found from my Jato days, that driving on asphalt/paved surfaces and the assorted obstacles that come with that cause much more damage than dirt running (plus you're ususally going faster)

Oh,I forgot to mention this:I crashed into my cousin's steel toe shoe at full speed!!(50mph)He was wearing the shoe,BTW!!LOL!Guess what,no broken parts!Only a stripped ball-cup end, that costs only 25 cents to fix!

He then limped while my Storm bashed![>:]

[link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDXBGnDojB0]Unbiased 3rd Party[/link] - Click that and fast foward to about 3 minutes. Now I'm not saying its a fact its the toughest but the thing is pretty tough.
I think you have a little to much Firestorm Pride there my man. Just watched your bash videos in that other thread. I must say I like the firestorm and enjoyed the video but there is not a single incident on that film that would hurt a jato much less most st's out there. Once again not knocking the Vid or the car, I enjoy both, but you are making false claims.

hitting someone's shoe is not even in the same ballpark as hitting a curb/mailbox/signpost

go take a video of your truck hitting a mailbox at fullspeed and report your findings

.............Or a car. My XXX-NT did that at about 45 MPH and the only thing I had to fix was like something with the bottom of the shock. It was like $1.00 to replace.

If you buy all 4 break them in and run them into a cement wall at top speed, probably the firestorm will have the least damage because its the slowest [X(] and it would be very close to that speedy GT2 There all good man go buy one for crying out lowd and have some fun instead of getting filled up here with so much smoke you will never see whats good or not [&:]

THERE ALL GOOD

You expect me to worry about spelling or punctuation on this forum..............................LOL

try adding something a little more supportive

THEY'RE ALL GOOD

**spelling correction to previous post**

Seriously though, these posts are getting sooooo old. Funny thing is, it seems to be going on more in the ST forums than in others. Probably because ST's are cheaper, which means kids can afford them, which results in more kids in the ST forum, but who knows.

You guys all got good points.
The Firestorm isn't the slowest ST.Its faster than the GT2,nitro sport, evader, and xxx-nt1.MY Firestorm is one of the fastest ST.I took mine up to about 50mph,which is when I crashed into my cousin's steel toe shoe.He was wearing it and he was still standing. So,in other words I would have crashed into a 130lb. steel table leg.

go take a video of your truck hitting a mailbox at fullspeed and report your findings
My cousin's Firestorm got away from him and hit a tree(more solid than a mailbox)at full speed!!No findings to report!

you are making false claims.
Excuse me,but where did I make a False claim????

so far after breaking in the engine its done cart wheels, summersaults, hit a metal pole, hit a tree, landed upside down on tarmac after a huge jump, rolled over and nothing broke
Another recent testimony...

He's referring to your videos, which is a very very minor "bash" session (if you want to call it that) compared to the jumps/rigors that some other RC'ers put their trucks through (this doesn't include me, I do mostly stuff comparable to what's in your videos). All these "50mph into a pole" claims have yet to show video proof; same with the speed claims. Everyone said the nitro evader ST could do 40+ when it came out.. EVERYONE.. until a few of us purchased radar guns and posted speeds of about 33mph with stock gearing.

You even need to be leery of speed claims in advertisements. The savage X 4.6 advertises speeds of 45+ mph. Most users report a max of 44mph on a good tune. Minor, but when they advertise "45+" many people think that it will achieve at least that speed, if not higher. That said, I'm purchasing a savage this weekend

I really don't see what's so spicatular about that Jato video. Also, it's the "most durable truck they've tested" because the firestorm wasn't out at that time, to be fair.
