i was out running my truck and noticed the Flywheel was spinning freely, course i just thought the nut came loose, well i think my flywheel might have came off the collet, cuz the clutch nut was on there tight causing me to use methods i dont like to get it loose. The flywheel is trash, front all shaved down, and the collet is shoved up in the flywheel. So i guess ima need a new flywheel and collet, and does anyone know what i can do so i wont have this problem later on. Did i not tighten the clutch nut enough? cuz i though i put it on there pretty tight.
Anyways now the fun part since have it all broke down im do some upgrades and get an MIP clutch, whats a good flywheel to go along with it? Beyond that is there anything else i can upgrade since im in the mood.

I have had a flywheel come loose on me too and that was with loctite on the threads. I use to use a torque wrench to set it to manufacture torque. Now, after that, I just grap the flywheel with some really huge channel lock plyers and tighten down the nut till its torqued to my own judgement. I put just a tiny bit of locktite on the threads too. Its hard to get the nut off with alot of locktite so thats why only a tiny bit now. Are you starting it from a box starter? That is how mine got loose, alot of pinch and a box start on a cold motor.

I myself have tried a pull just to see what its all cracked up to be. It was with breaking in a new motor too. I was so like never again after that. Everytime I see someone yanking on that think in vidieos now I laugh
Box or roto all the way for me. Nice thing about box is no more oneway bearings to worry about. Roto is good for those motors that are hard to get to the flywheels or just easier without a big box. No more lawnmower cords heh.

Just a little thing...................if you want more bottom end (torque of the line) get a large flywheel.............if you want more top speed get a small flywheel

Best choice at a reasonable price would be this [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18&products _id=323]FLYWHEEL[/link] with this [link=http://xtm-dealer.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18&products _id=807]Sliding Clutch[/link], I have used these many times with great results [:-]
