Default HELP!!

this is like the 5th time I replace the bearing's on the clutch bell on my rc10gt, everything looks good nothing that I can point out and say this is cosing the problem. can some one help and tell me why is this going on on my 18 cv-r or can I replace the bearing with cooper bearing so it won't brake any more?

Has any one encounter this problem?

I would not go copper i would go ceramic the only thing i can think of that would cause this problem is either your gear mesh is to tight or the shaft in your motor is off and i do not think it is either one because i know you can set up your car right and i do not think O.S. would send out a product like that.

try getting a new bell clutch maby that has a problem. i have no idea other than that.

What bearings are you buying now?

I use to go through alot of clutch bearings too. Can you reverse your clutch shoes on your set up? That stopped killing my bearings. Its the heat that caused mine to burn out fast, built up by the lack of good grip from the shoes trying to grip. Toki knows how well the shoes grip when reversed. I dont know if thats your problem, might be something else, but it really helped my bearing life out alot. Sometimes if your over geared it can put alot of load on your clutch too and cause alot of extra heat that kills off bearings fast. If your tune is off or your running in high grass that will do it too. Duno, I am presuming your mesh is right?

Mspeed that makes alot of sence i can see how that would blow a bearing nice call. i never thought of that.

Yes the MIP clutch with the #4 setting it grabs like crazy. I run it on my race rig i let the slipper do all the work.

A few other things to consider about the heat thing, if your plug is worn out and your not getting enough power to lock the clutch at low end, it will tend to burn the bearings out. In effect it makes it over geared for your set up cause your current gearing now cant be pushed as easy with the reduced power of the motor due to a worn out plug. One last thing, the clutches themselves worn out, can cause them to produce more heat, killing off bearings. I learned that heat issues is more damaging than most people know about. The heat not only wears out your clutch bearings but remember it goes right through the crankshaft and right on the front bearing in the motor. Before I learned how damaging it really was, my first motor had grooves in the crank after 9 gallons from the clutch bearings. All the little things just to get these nitro's running in optimal condition makes me want to switch to electric. Currently, I am playing around with adjusting cooling on the motor as well as the standard tuning to prolong engine life and get more power through out the life of the motors
