Default MIP clutch problems

Ok so i put this clutch on my RC10GT, i just went out to start it up, and the second it starts up it wants to race off at full speed. did i install something wrong or backwards? cuz it never did this before with the stock shoes.

If it`s racing off at full speed , it sounds like the idle was turned up really high . Or is the engine at idle ?

No its set at idle the carb is barely open, i havent changed any of the orignal settings. The only things thats been changed is the clutch. Prior to this it would run, and idle fine.

The weights shouldn`t be causing that big of a problem . Did you push back the pins on the flywheel ?

Yea they were pushed back pretty much flush with the flywheel, theres was still a tiny lil bit stickin out of the top of the shoes, but it was such a tiny bit i wouldnt think it would effect it. I thought it might be an airleak, but everything is sealed, and it wasnt messing up before and i never open the engine up.

If you thought an air leak was the problem then the engine must have revved up and wasn`t at idle . If the engine was at idle and the truck took off then something isn`t installed correctly with the clutch .

Yea, Well i just started it, and the engine started going full throttle (without me touching the throttle), so i guess i could aways take it back apart and see if theres something i missed.

If that is the case there is nothing wrong with the clutch if your engine went to full throttle . You either have a servo , servo linkage , or radio issue for the engine to go full throttle when you start it . Do you have the radio on when starting it ? Try starting it at a different location , maybe something in the area is conflicting with the frequency of your radio . Hard to say without any other info .

hmm ok so i started the car and it ran perfect ( i did nothing to the car), ran a tank thru it, then went to mow the yard. After i was done i went and started it back up and now its doing the same thing! i dont really think its the clutch anymore, i think it has to do with the engine. Any ideas?

I think it has to do with your throttle servo , check that first .
