Default Project SLAUGHTER ( Pro- Lite )

With 3286 hits and counting I'm sure some of you have seen [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7491573/mpage_4/key_/tm.htm]Project Hard-CORR[/link]. It is a 1/5 true scale CORR PRO-4 truck. As I come closer to finishing it and my A.D.D. kicks in I've decided to build a CORR PRO-LITE based off the SLAYER / SLASH body( Some time in the future will come a Pro-2 based off a Baja 5 ). SLAYSHER is 1/10 but since this is pro-lite I can probably call it a 1/8.

Goal - Build a scalish 2wd racer with straight axle rear end, tube chassis / roll cage while using what I have laying around the shop while keeping close to SLASH wheelbase/track width etc.

What I have laying around
- Used HPI .25 with about one gallon ran w/ stock exhaust
-RC4WD alloy MadForce rear axle with HellFire? diff
-HotBodies Savage shocks for rear and xtm shocks front
-Aggressor radio and various servos.

What I will be needing. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MAKE SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Slash Body
- Front suspension arms. ( Thinking MT-2 alloys )
- Steering cranks
- 2 speed Tranny ( Have Savage but might like something else )
- Fuel cell / Batt.
- 2.2 Rims / Tires. ( I'm liking the stock MT-2's )
- Rear drive shaft ( T-Maxx ? )

Plan - Front half will be an alumi tub w/ rear half tube frame. With brakeline tubing for full cage. Front suspension will use lower and upper a-arms. Uppers will probably be modified lower arms. Rear suspension will be 4-link.

Here's a pic of some parts. I'll probably order Body tomorrow and parts next week. Please suggest Tranny and Alloys!!!!

Have you tried to open "paint" on your computer and resizing the picture and saving it afterwards?? It works for me..
By the way great project!!!! Look into a jato 2 speed trans... Might be a little faster..LOL!!! But it is not a solid axle, it is a ball diff. A simple change of oil weight in it will adjust the drive of it though..
Keep it up!!!!

Thanx...I'll try that in a sec.

Well, I was looking around and seen AE's new Slash body thats coming out on the 15th. I'll be using this body instead. I wish I was paying attention last weekend thought. Traxxas had a few of these bodies at last weekend's CORR race in San Diego. I thought they where clear stocks and where already on the market. Dumb me.

I guess this gives me more time to collect what I need.

Just ordered up some parts from Tower. I'll be using the FireStorm front chassis clip. I'll bolt this to a flat piece of 3mm aluminum plate. Maybe bend up the edges if it'll work.

Also ordered up rear diff pinion, bearings and a batt box. Tomorrow I'll order Hobby People for xtm hubs. Couple washers and they fit the MadForce axle good. I'd rather use xtm cuz kyosho is just so hard to find.

Also coming is a pair of cheepy 2.2 rims just for mock-up. After I see what the rear width will be I can throw together the front arms. Thinking MT-2 alloy set-up.

This weekend is CORR Races in POMONA. Last time they was selling the proline slash body so hopefully I can pick one up.

Well I got the new Proline body for Slash. It's called HARDCORE which is funny cuz my other build is called HARD-CORR. Any way here it is over a traxxas front clip ( don't remember what vehical it's from) a flat piece of 3mm plate , the straight rear, and fuel cell. Still have the FireStorm clip coming too.

ANY SUGGECTION ON A TRANNY???? I was thinking 2speed. A simple open / non-sealed type would be fine.

Dude instead of 2 speed tranny you should go with a center diff.
be much better for a car like that in my opinion.

This truck will be 2WD. if I go center diff then I would have to lock it right. I have no experiance with anything other than a sealed tranny. Could you explain to me the advantages to your suggestion.

Don't worry...I haven't forgotten about Hard-CORR. I'm just a little attention defficitated. But you're right. I'll get back on the ball.
