one note about your obsession with the picco, ofna makes the picco in 6 month shifts. so once a new revision of the .26 picco comes out they will wipe all part supplies of the old picco parts... so when it comes time that the picco needs and engine rebuild youll be stuck with a 250 dollar paperweight just because you cant find a 12 dollar connecting rod for your engine.
also piccos are only amazing when they're modified... at least with the current revision anyways.

CrysisFX is right about Picco motors.I have a old 26 that still runs like a champ but can't find anything for it so when it goes it's a paper weight.Whats the deal with your Jato is it fixed or not?

From reading your post and replys it sounds like you know what your doing
After 7 years in the hobby you still don't know how to tune a engine, maybe you need to do some reading on how to properly tune a nitro engine.Maybe you don't care cause daddy will just buy you another when you blow it up from not knowing what your doing.Good luck getting anyone on here to help you since you know it all and everything we suggest is dumb.If you know what your doing why did you have to take it to the hobby shop,so they could tell you the motor was shot you should have known that with all your knowlege
DADDY MAY I HAVE ANOTHER.

If someone is trying to help you,it is best not to use words like thats crap, duh things like that.It will not get the help your looking for is what I'm saying.I have been in this hobby more than 20 years and still don't know all the little tricks. Now if you would have said I heard the 3.3 is better than a 2.5 why do you say the 2.5 is better it would have went over better than saying thats crap and duh.I'm only trying to help but when you come with a know it all attitude it only pisses people off so think before you post.A 3.3 is a good engine but requires better knowlege on tuning,if it's a tad off chances are your gonna have a broken con rod.A 3.3 is notorious for broken con rods where you can be off a little more with the 2.5r and not hurt the motor.I have had both in my Jato and prefer the 2.5r cause it holds a better tune and is more reliable than a 3.3 but get what you want. Also top fuel is junk go with trinity or odonnell much better perfoming fuel.

yah because you ritchend 1 full turn when 1/16 to 1/8 th would have wotked but i know you ran for a tank or less on the odonnell and that is all it takes with a leeeeeeeeeean engine to fry it was to late if you learn from it it is good if not then you will do it agn ,and you never stated a temp or results of a spit test get a temp gun at the least , for you i sugest a venom temp failsafe lke this one i got on ebay for 32 bucks . http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=140260904228 below i have some vids for you to watch i sugest watching all his vids.

he was 5 tuneing nitro engines dont mess with him , you know alot of kids play with nitro fuel and 220+ deg toys at 5 years old #1 you learn how to tie your shoes #2 then they give you a nitro car after you learn your abc's because after that you can read rc car instructions and start to build your car, at 6 you get a nitro helli .

lets try not to get off topic now. did i mention the engine is shot. its been awile since ive been on this thread. now the guy at the shop has been doing this for 20 years. and for an extra 35 bucks he will break it in and tune it which his ways are completly different from traxxas. is it worth it. like i said his ways are completly different from traxxas. ive been doing this for a long time but i dont exactly know the tricks of the trade.

No it's not worth the money to have someone else do it for you,if your a newbee then yes it might be a good idea.Don't go by what traxxas says to do,do the heat cycle method.I don't feel like explanning it to you,go to nitro engines and read the heat cycle thread. It's easy to do and don't cost a thing.Use that 35 bucks for spare parts or more fuel. The heat cycle method is the proven way to break in a motor, traxxas's way is very old school.Take your time and you will have a solid motor. What motor did you go with a 2.5 or 3.3?If you went 3.3 make sure your not to lean or you will have a broken con rod in no time.
