Hey guys, just wondering exactly if it would be wise to clean the foam of my air filter.. or should I just replace it? It is one of the internal kind (I attached a pic) and I was wondering if it is okay to clean the foam on these ones. Because I have seen before online that they recommend you do not clean the internal foam, only the external (which I don't have). If I have to get new foam, I mine as well get a new filter.. would this be wise anyway?

Hey thanks for the input and fast reply.. oh yes, off topic question (sorry don't wanna start a new post though).. I over-heated my engine today (I was tuning and got a little over-zealous, not checking temps.. nitro NOOB! Plus my oily fuel didn't help much I thought it was rich!) - is there anything in particular I should do for it? I really don't care that much about my current engine, as I'm replacing it in a few weeks with an os 18, but I still wanna keep it in good shape for a back-up engine. Temps were around 310+ I believe. I let it cool down to about 200F then started it again... took a bit to get it started for some reason (was a bit worried) but that was probably because I over-richened it. It was running fine for about 25 mins after words, temps 240 MAX (and thats going through leaves and over rocks and stuff).

keep the engine clean/air filter clean, that helps prevent overheating, just dont' try and run it overheated ALOT or you will hurt the engine, an overheat here and there wont kill an engine (for a short time)

Dont use soap, it is hard to get it all out. Simple green is way better. I have also soaked mine is carburator cleaner and just squeased it a couple times and it was clean as a whistle.
