I have the CV-R now in my MT2, and it is a great engine. Not as awesome as the 18TZ-TX, but it also doesn't blow out the diffs every other time you run it I have no complaints, and I got it used for 56 bucks shipped ... not bad at all.

o yeah i bet the tz is way bette rif you feel like makeing it fit outa the box i can put the 3.3 buy putting the 4 screws i took out back in with it from my old 2.5 3.3 looks good plus i dont have to mod it at all and the tz is like 150$ getting the 3.3 for 100

The Rustler is rated at 50mph out of the box with the TRX 2.5. There is now way that you are going to gain another 28 mph by just dropping in the TRX 3.3 or any other motor for that matter without changing the gearing. Especially with a single speed tranny.

Oh and by the way the OS .18TM is a direct drop in for the Rusty and offers more power than the 3.3. It has 1.6hp compared to .98 from the 3.3. Im not knocking the 3.3 because it served well in my Jato but there are way better motors out there for a decent price with better performance and tunability.

i already changed my gearing its doin 62 mph with the 2.5r but i ran it hella lean it was at like 250F plus i already ordered it or i would get an os but from all the videios ive seen the 3.3 hauls ass and dose carzy wheelies

hey also what does a new tz cost 170ish right? guys im not trying to say the 3.3 is better you guys got way more experiance then me with this stuff so im just trying to put up my side and hear what you guys say also im useing my rustler just to bash around on jumps and such so i was planing at leaveing the gears at what they are will that be ok for like 30 mph jumps? or is the low end of the 3.3 crap?

First of all neither video is yours.. And both videos are with 3.3s....Is he going to bash that car at all he probably has it geared to the moon..If you search the iternet you can probably find videos of anything... I don't see you have any proof of your own..
BTW with that 3.3 hes running 40/52 gearing... HE has about 0 bottom end.. You post all the videos of OTHER peoples cars doing nothing but straightline passes..
THe os 18tz is a FAR more practical and superior engine

Go to page 6 of the comments he states it is and quote "the Traxxas 3.3" Also the tz will do more then just wheelie it will blow the diffs out of your little rustler.. So don't come here saying that a 3.3 is better then a OS 18tz.. A 3.3 simple won't compare.. And yes that will fit your rustler.. But be sure to buy about 10 of everything.... You seem relatively new to RC and possibly Forums because of the lack of you typing regularly without spelling mistake or using "text" talking..

It makes your posts easier to understand when they are typed more clearly. This also gives your statements more merit. You don't have to be perfect, but it is a lot easier to help. And cursing isn't going to get you anywhere either.
