How can i remove my fuel tank on my nitro rustler??? Im thinking theres a crack in the fuel tank since theres some fuel or oily substance near the flyweel, spur gear area. The worst case scenario is a cracked crankcase!!! But i don't think its the crankcase since there is no lost in compression.

Take the plastic top plate off with the phillips screws that you see from the top of the truck. Once you get that off, it will slide right out after taking the fuel lines loose. Pretty simple for the most part, and a good time to clean it!
Here ya go. Here is a thread i made that should show you pretty well how it all comes apart.

No, its a rustler. Its an old one though. It has a brown alluminum chassis. It doesent have the half-composite chassis, and steering setup of the nitro sport. It has the bell crank steering and full aluminum chassis, its just brown instead of blue i guess because its one of the original ones. [8D]

The cap on it you said to remove the screw thats on the side with the spring. So now i tried to put back the lid back on and the spring is not tight!

I dont think i told you to take that out[&:]
But anyways, if you took the fuel lid off, then there should be i think 2 little metal prongs that you will have to make sure are hitting the fuel tank and not spun around or else the spring wont be tight. Its hard to explain, but its pretty simple.

You will probably have to bend them around by hand, or with some pliars, then put the top on and put the bolt through, and then let go of the spring.
Why did you take the top off?
