Default Duratrax Maximum ST

My brother in law just gave me a maximum st that has been collecting dust for 5 years! It's complete minus motor. I have the motor mounts, clutch and everything. I have a Traxxas Pro .15 sitting around that has about 3gal. of nitro through it and ran great in my Nitro Sport before I replaced it with an OS 18cvr, will this motor work in the maximum with little to no modification?

If so that would be awesome, I will have a free running rc[8D]

Thanks.

If you have the adjustable motor mount it will fit with no issues.I have a Megatech 16 with two speed in mine and it goes pretty good.Don't go to big with it though there not a very durable truck.I use mine for street use and it does fine just don't jump it to much or it will be broke. If you need any parts let me know I have a stock pile of parts for it.

Nitro Sport used a short shaft engine, like the RC10GT. Most likely, the clutch will not reach the spur gear.

Thanks guys. I'm going to give it a shot, even if I have to modify the motor mounts. The pro15 isn't doing me any good sitting on the bench

If you have the adjustable motor mount that came with it you shouldn't have any issues with it.Like I said I'm using a megatech 16 short shaft motor with no issues, without the adjustable motor mount you will probibly have to modify to make it work.Good luck and keep us posted.

It does have the adjustable motor mount but I don't see any way to mount the stock flywheel and clutch assembly on the .15. Any ideas? I used the pro .15's clutch, flywheel etc.. on my os .18 so I cant try that. Worst comes to worse I'll put the pro on ebay and get something compatible with the truck.

Thanks

you will need to swap out the crankshaft for that sort of mod to work. I have 2 of these trucks, 1 is modded out with all blue aluminum everything and a DTX .18 with a steel spurgear and dual slipper assembly (too much engine for the 2 sp tranny, burns up the diff) I also have an OS .18 CV-r that is already set up to be used on the single speed tranny and has the output shaft you need also, it is just collecting dust and has great pop left and the recoil is in great shape also PM me if you are interested, I'll let it go cheap...
