jato has a mind of its own
my jato is throwing fits lately. For some reason (ONLY when its running) when you give it throttle it just kinda does what it wants. the steering will get all twitchy and the throttle servo will just jump around. I thought maybe batteries but i changed them all and it still does it. Any ideas? whats funny is i was with my buddies the other night and we run them for about an hour, and my remote started flashing right before dark and the car started acting up so i hurried up and shut it down til yesterday. Yesterday i put all new batteries in the car and the remote and its acting really funny.

I guess the first thing I would do is check the power switch on the car. If it is dirty on the inside, it will cause this type of problem. Plug a battery directly into the RX (bypassing the switch) and see if that cures it. From there I would check servo connections and wires looking for any splits in the wires. I had a case one time also that the antenna wire in the TX was coming loose from it mount point in the transmitter....check that too.

what another funny thing is that the car only acts up when its running. when its off the throttle/steering acts fine. but when you start it up it starts goofing up

I'd check to make sure there are no bare wires or pinched wires around metal parts. Look at the wires carefully, escpecially the wires running to the steering servo and make sure it all looks good. If that don't cure it, try swapping the crystals for a different frequency and look at your receiver's antenna closely as well.

I used to have that issue and it was the receiver antena wire that was being pinched by the blue aluminum nut that holds the antena tube. So check that out. I also noticed once that my receiver was gettibg interferance from some one flying an RC Plane at the same park I was at. I always carry spare crystals just incase.
