XXX-NT or GT2. But I would really suggest a 1/8 buggy or truggy if you plan on doing raicng as the 10th gas truck class is dead.

How much do you want to spend? There are some great RTR truggies for $500 (Jammin X2 CRT and RC8T). Also, 1/8 is alot more durable. What classes does your track race?

Try the hyper 7 tq black edition. There only 299 at towers, and if you want newer platforms choose the ones that chris told you. The hyper 7 and picco rtr are great for begginers but if you are serios about racing choose the rc8t or the jammin and they just came out with a new truggy but i dont remeber the name it was like the mx9 something something

The 1/10th gas truck may be dead at the track, but it's alive and well for bashing!  They are some of the most reasonably priced RC's around.

Well, What if he buys a good gas truck with race equipment and goes to the track saying they dont race that class? I'm all for reviving that class, as I think it is the most fun class, but people want bigger and better.

1/10 is dead when you can buy a more durable racier platformorm 1/8 buggy and truggy for less or equal to the amount of a XXX-NT RTR ($350).

Thunder Tiger ST-1. I have had my eye on one of these for a while it looks to have real good bang for your buck.

I think i'm gonna go with 1/8 scale but not sure which truck to go for. Don't want a top of the range truck and have been looking at the thunder tiger st-1. I have also seen the robotronics mantis and was wondering if this was any good and what is the difference between the TXS model and the normal one (on towerhobbies)

This is where I found the RC8T cheapest just doing a real quick search of A-Main, Tower, and My Atomic Hobbies. www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/32127 I think A-Main might do free shipping on this too, but I'm not sure. You also might want to search ebay.

The Factory Team kit is cheaper, but you have to buy electronics and an Engine I belive. So it will cost more in the long run by a substantial amount. You don't need the FT unless you plan on doing serious racing too. You could start with the RS and upgrade it to FT specs as you go if you decide to get serious.

I think that this might be too expensive for me considering that I am not that seroius. The ones that i am considering are:

1. Robotronics Mantis
2. Thunder Tiger ST-1
3. Hobao Hyper ST

Which one is the best?

Being serious about racing has almost nothing to do with it. It is the quality of a higher end car. All RTR's aren't made for serious racing (except some losi's) and all RTR's are lower quality than their kit counterparts, but getting a good RTR vehicle based off a racer is a huge plus. I still say Jammin X2 CRT RTR, http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/33276 . For $490 it is a steal. Out of those (none are very good) I would go with the ST-1 as it is only $300.

That truggy looks good and if you say no to this suggestion that is the one that i will buy. I was looking at rc retailers in the UK and found the original losi 8ight-T RTR and was wondering if this would be better for the price
