Default RC10gt Sprint project

I picked this RC10gt Chassis with roll cage off of E-bay. I picked it up with the intentions of building a vintage Sprint car with it. I do have a majority of the parts except the body. There was one body part included which was the tail piece. Does anybody have a clue. On what type of body this came from and where could I find one?
Thanks
Ray

Try searching for "big boys toys" as they used to make a very nice sprint car kit for the RC10 back in the day. I think they're still around and that may be who that setup is from.

alot off bodies here, maybe you can find one that you can atleast make work

if not try to find some sheets of lexan and cut and mold the panels yourself, thats what alot of guys at my oval track do

The Toys for big boys didn't have any thing like I was looking for, But the Mcallester racing that is the ticket. I have to fire them an E-mail in the AM on this. I even like the 57 ford Bomber body. I wonder if that would firt a duratrax force GP Thaks for the info.

thats definately not a big boys toys conversion ... most of the sprinter bodies won't fit a chassis that wide ... these guys may know what it is and what or who makes a body for it http://www.rdent.com/sprint/sprint.html

I have no idea it was an e-bay special. All I know it has a RC10gt chassis and drive line. right now I am tempted on just putting an Epic .18 engine in it with the largest clutch bell,Smallest spur gear, foam tires, and a gps tracker to see how fast I can make this thing go. I might use a traxas 3.3 engine since the linkage is set for a slide carb. Mcallister has alot of nice bodies. And I have presently 4 RC10gts so I am not sure what to get....

I am currently working on a new body for it that covers more. an O.S. .12 cv is what I run even though it is now discontinued, but that is what size you need and a associated clutch nut.

Yuki
When I saw the work you did with the lexan I was a little discouraged I never had experience working with Lexan. When I bought the car it was in a lot with another RC10gt and a whole bunch of parts. So I was spending time on the mechanical part first. When I was finished. I started digging through the parts and found half a body the top wing and the front one. considering the parts were flat I ordered some lexan sheet and decided to finish the rest of the body. Also pictured is another sprint car that is project number two. I already have a new motor for that one. But I am going to finish this first one before I start on the secone on. I am wondering does anybody know how to attach the front wing?

Well I finaly got the lexan sheets, But I am still trying to figure out a few other matters like which mill to use I have few sitting around. I found out with the Epic .18 with the largest clutchbell and smallest spur gear I was topping out at only 33 mph with foam tires. I kept on getting radio glitches making me hit the curb ugh. Good thing about the older RC10GTs they are durable plus easy to work on. I think I might go with an OS .18 CVR I have sitting around.. Considering I will not be racing it. Plus I I have been considering cutting up a front bulfhead and using shorter shocks

Spektrum will take care of the glitching. I was in a parking lot race once andit went out of control, t-boned a curb, and the most damage was the chassis was bent upward. RE lexan work: those were simple straight bends i did by hand.

well I finally am getting done with my legal size sprint car.I was making it the size of the regular rc sprinters.I had to make it skinnier and shorten the wheelbase.shortened the dogboneby a half inch andi am also offsetting the chassis. I did a new paint job, it looks great. it is black, but in good light it has a gold tint to it! I had to move the guts around a little ,(do some engineering), to make everything fit in it. It shold be raceable by the end of the week.

That is starting to look real nice looks like you are putting a lot of work to make it scale. thanks for posting the pictures. I am still working on the mechanicals. But I am getting there I will be posting some pictures soon though I still haven't cut any lexan as of yet. But I do have the patterns from the original body.

Well the recent up dates for me, Is I have placed foam tires on it it still want to see how fast I can get it to go. 33 mph was unacceptebale. I am going to try the Epic .18 again on the next run. Then I have an OS .18 CVR to try Then after that I think the final mill is going to be a traxxas 3.3 I have sitting. After the speed runs I think I will tone it down and put a more mellow mill in I even found thinner fron tires forit. it. Then start cutting the lexan for it. I have been pretty tempted on getting A sprint car chassis of over $300 on some website I can' find right now and work with that but my budget is spread thin Besides the one I have now is a good one to work on. because I have two completed RC10gts and another project on top of that. I have been multitasking I have plenty of parts I am just having trouble finding engine mounts for non Pull start engines...In the end I think this one will be a shelf queen because there isn't any tracks to run it. All I have is place to go off road..

width , including tires <10 in.
Hight from ground to highest point of top wing <15 in.
Length < 18 in.

Basicly , it should fit in a 10x15x18 box
