Default New to the hobby

Well i am new to the hobby and picked up a sweet deal.

a Traxxas Jato 2.5and everything to get started (USED) for 130 bucks canadian.

I take delivery of it tomorrow I decided to get into this because... I need something to pass the time I own and race a dodge cummins truck and in the winter you can't race so I thought I would pick something up that would allow me to mess around with and tinker in the winter and pass time in the summer.

The previous owner states the engine hasnt been started in 2 years but was oiled pryorto being put in storage. (should i rebuild it?)

any tips you might give to the beginner nitro RC enthusiast?

I would try to start it first and see how it runs. Also if it does not turn on or run poorly then it's probably time for a new engine. You can trade the 2.5 engine for the 3.3. Also since your in w cold climate you may ant to heat the engine up first with a hair dryer or heat gun.
