Default planning to go nitro

i've had a few electric trucks over the past 2 years and i am looking at getting a nitro but don't know what to get. i was looking at the traxxas revo 3.3 most likely a used one that already has all the hop-ups i'm looking at. are there better trucks out there, im mainly just doing some bashing around, the nearest track is over an hour away so i don't plan to do any racing. any advice?

will just say with a used nitro, plan on buying a new engine.
Pretend the seller had no idea what he was doing and toasted(chances are he did even if it says runs great) it and pay accordingly.

Thing with nitros is that if the sleeve and piston are shot they will run for 5-10 minutes. Pretty much every used engine I've got in a used nitro either the sleeve and piston were worn out completely, or the prior owner ran it insanely lean and royally screwed it up.

traxxas has an engine replacement service, that's one of the reasons i was thinking of traxxas. i have 3 of there electric trucks and they run great. just wanted to know of any other truck that can be compared to the revo 3.3. i can get a good revo for around $350-$400 that has a good deal of upgrades to it, saving me the money of having to buy and install everything. a new revo will cost more than a well taken care of used truck with all the upgrades.

what im asking is there a truck(s) on the market for the same price range that can compare to the revo 3.3?

The Revo is a great all around truck and good racer as well becuase of the good handling. If you want a truck though that is flat out built like a tank the the Savage X4.6 is the way to go and is within the same price range.
