lowering question

I lowered my jato 3.3 and i see alot of scratches on the bottom i really like how it looks lowered can some =one tell me what i could do to resolve this prob also i put a 56 spur on and still no poppin wheelies on demand =WHY?

Lowering the Jato all the way really takes away its potential to wheely. Due to the stock shock oil being so thin 35wt i beleive it will just squat and scrape the bottom. I use 50wt in front and 75wt in the rear. It really helps with the chassis scraping. I have mines way down.

to wheelie you gotta jack your COG as high up as possible. dropping it low is counter productive to popping em.
and lower chassis = more scratches on it
and lower chassis = more scratches on it

lowering the COG, as stated above, counters the ability to wheelie. I used to use revo springs in my jato along with a high COG, and it wheelied like crazy. So you'll have to choose either lower COG or wheelies. As far as scratches, you'll never keep the chassis clean forever, but using lexan doesn't sound like a bad idea

my jato is bogging when i take off. but if i let it sit there then gas it it has power but if i gas for a second then gas it again it boggs do u think its over heating?

yeah there was alot of smoke> so im out playing with my jato and it clocks out it would start so i rolled the flywheel and it was lock then i took apart the engine and found that theres metal chips blocking the piston. what could have caused that?

do u think rebuild or buy another engine Please give info on what type with no modds and will give same or more powerand price on a budget but if it worth it i guess a man has to do what a man has to do.

the metal came from in the piston where u have the 2 inch bar that holds the rod the sleeve is fine its just the piston but i read that u cant just change the piston u have to change the sleeve and piston, the metal came from a little piece chipped it still was connected though.</p>

I think that is correct. The sleeve and piston mate for life. I have never tried to resleeve one I just use that as an excuse for buying an upgraded motor. Do you have a temp gun? They cost about 30 bucks and give you a concrete answer to the question is this too lean. One temp gauge can save countless motors and pay for it self in saved money and time. Once I got one I felt much better about my tuning.
you can send the motors back to traxxas for an exchange for like 110 bucks or get a used one with pleanty of life off ebay. I just for a 2.5 for $54 the other day. It arrived in a short time and has lots of pinch (compression).
