Rc10gt performance

My brother says that a RC10gt goes only about 35mph. I think its around 45mph, Howfast does it really go(stock)?[sm=punching.gif]

RE: Rc10gt performance

The stock RTR+ does go about 35-ish, no more than 40 tops.

RE: Rc10gt performance

the rc10 rtr also has a restrictor in the carb, i think for breaking it in, if you take it out its a lot faster

35ish.

Thats kinda wierd. Beacause my friend has an Hpi rush with an 0.S cv-r15, with an 60$yokohoma pipe and my car can beat him in a race[sm=confused.gif]

tuning?

NItRO D 02-28-2005 08:51 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

one quik question guyz? Will a cv-x.15 o.s engine be good for my Rc10Gt for racing. And can i still use the same stock pipe from the Rc10gt rtr wit the engine[sm=confused.gif]

RE: Rc10gt performance

for racing u would need a .12. and yes the exhaust will work with it.

ThunderbirdJunkie 02-28-2005 10:36 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

D, i'd upgrade the pipe with the 15CVR, definitely, with the FT topend pipe.

NItRO D 03-01-2005 07:55 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

why a .12cv-r,and shouldnt i use a bottom end pipe instead of a topend for an upgrade pipe[sm=confused.gif]

ncgrunt 03-01-2005 08:53 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

Any "official" racing like ROAR stuff will require a .12

Diver09 03-01-2005 08:56 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

I think it goes at least 40 with the restictor takin out. Its a huge difference when you take it out. I can do wheelies everywhere.

RE: Rc10gt performance

take the restrictor out and throw on a higher gear ratio and that thing will fly

with a .12CVR i'd use a topend pipe...
I just ganked the .12CVR outta my NTC3 i just sold, and dropped it into my GT w/a topend pipe.
it still lifts the front wheels off the ground, and she SCREAMS.

dang , i didnt kno all that thx Thunder[sm=RAINFRO.gif]

RE: Rc10gt performance

np dude.
I don't think I really need any more power in my GT with the .12 CVR. I WAS plannin on goin with a Fantom 15, but this thing's more than fast enough IMO:D

GT-Power 03-02-2005 10:51 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

thats the thing with the dynamite .12SPD compared to the O.S. .12 Cv-R. So close in power it was really available traction. Any stadium truck cant really use more than 1hp. It may with some heavy front ballast and battery pack upfront and some very large monster truck tires (like masher 2K's) and very tall gearing. Even then its almost too much power for a ST.[&:]

RE: Rc10gt performance

True. BTW the GT goes about 32mph tops. Removing the restrictor just gives you more power, power as in more acceleration making it appear faster but the most you'd gain is a good 35-36mph. Still a good truck and fast out of the box. OS .12CVR is all you need for racing unless you track is huge. Then you'd want a faster side exhaust engine like the newer Fantoms, Wasp.12SE, RB C12, or Novarossi CX12.

RE: Rc10gt performance

if i take the restrictor carb out do i need to buy another carb.

.21RC10GT 03-03-2005 08:12 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

No, its just a little white deep plug thing in the neck of the carb. If you take the air filter off, you will see it, and it is really easy to take out with a screw driver or pliers or something.

NItRO D 03-03-2005 08:16 PM

RE: Rc10gt performance

then thats it no parts to buy

nope. Its actually called a venturi and I use them at the track. It limits how much air your engine can take in at any given time. It does make the engine more tame to drive around. Many pros use them. When you look at setup sheets it will ask what venturi you used. There are different sizes for different tracks. They are a nice thing to have for the track but i think most bashers will view them as a nusiance since they just want raw power![&:]

RE: Rc10gt performance

there's a difference between a carb restrictor like this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LX3413&P=RF and that white little piece of crap that's in the stock GT.
course, I never understood using a carb restrictor myself. if your engine has enough power to where you can't put it down, why not downgrade to a lower performance engine?

cause I had an RB concept .12 and i couldnt afford two different engines. Trust me, on a long track (which the long striaght track just closed up) it was really noticeable. Most tracks are short now so my 65 dollars dynamite still whips on the 200+ nova and fantom crowd.:)

RE: Rc10gt performance

You guys that think your GTs are getting up to 35 MPH and higher (with STOCK GEARING) are DREAMING, whatever mods made...

If I had the cash I would buy every ST in RTR form and clock them on video.... there would still be fools saying "I think mine goes faster because of my pipe, filter, or that I am in fact tripping..."
