Pullstart to non pullstart
I know you need a backplate but i was wondering if you had to cut the starter crankshaft or if you could just remove it. I have no cutting tool so i was hoping i could just take it out.

leave the shaft in and intact. you can also get a replacement backplate from some manufacturers so you can completely remove it.

RE: Pullstart to non pullstart
There is a small shaft that protrudes out past the crank pin. This will need to be removed to clear the backplate.
If you decide to cut it, slide a piece of silicon fuel tubing over the crank pin to protect it. |
