I really want to put LED lights on my mt2. I need help trying to find the right size and power output so it wont drain my batteries. I also wanted to know how to hook them up to the battery pack.

Most led kits are run off a seperate 9 volt battery.

well you can get LED's all over the place, Try eBay, you can get killer deals on packs of LED's. Most LED's use very little power and using (typically 20-50mA). Typically they have the 9v battery power so they remain independent from the RC's power and usually for ease of installation, since not a lot of people are into soldering. It would be very easy to attach a connector to power the LED's off of a recivers extra channel or add it to a Y harness in line with the battery.

Here is a calculator that will tell you what kind of resistor you need to wire inline to prevent overvolting the LED's

So as an example:
a set of 4 super bright blues LED's like this:

they need 3.2v min
4 in parallel
20mA forward voltage

You would need a 56 ohm resistor to drop the voltage for the LED's

Yeah, i was planning on connecting it to the reciever, but what kind of wire would i need to do so?
Also would i need a specific kind of resistor? Will this one do: http://cgi.ebay.com/0-56-OHM-5-Watt-...QQcmdZViewItem

NICE! Can anyone give me a link to LED setup instruction or give me a few pointers? Im not too good with electricity so help would be appreciated!

Nope thats not right, those are .56 (point) ohm.... not 56 ohms....

Keep in mind the 56 ohm is only an example if you were using 4 of those LED like i linked to, adding more or less LED's or using LED's with different voltage requirements will change what resistor you need.

The resistor calculator i also linked to can guide you to the resistor you need, it even shows you the color of resistor that you need (resistors are color coded by ohm rating).

See now your getting into my weak area. I know how to find the correct resistor value but rated wattage i just don't get.

Those resistors would work but they are quite large, they are really meant for stereos putting out more power than 7v. If you have a local Fry's or other electronics store around they could assist you in getting the right resistor.

Hey guys i just bought some stuff today at my local electronics store. I hope i got the right stuff just checking here with you guys.
I told the guy at the store what i wanted to do and he gave me 4 super bright white and 4 super bright reds along with 8 resistors that are gold red blue green. Also .22 guage wire 5 feet and a switch with 3 terminals on it. He told me to put the resistor on the long end of the led he didn't say which color was supposed to come first gold or green. Can someone help me please im going to drill the holes right now for the headlights and tail lights. thx

ok i hooked them up and everything was fine the lights worked the on off switched worked then my battery over heated and started to bubble up on the top.

ok got that fixed think i had a crossed wire when i was testing just didnt notice. So now i think it might be draining the battery i made a disconnec tpoint so im ok there but i would think the switch i got would shut it off. thx O.K.

now i get the battery overheating when i turn the lights off does someone know what order i should have the wires on with a switch with three terminals and on - off
