WHAT SHOULD I GET????
im looking for a sweet looking nitro stadium truck or truggy that is FAST out of the box and is cheap. If u have a truggy or stadium truck please list some info on it and if u like it or not. I will be just using it to bash around and maybe some racing on a local track. any help is appreciated!

hpi firestorm.. the most durable and can hit 35 out of the box. put an rs4 2 speed kit on it and you might hit 45

firestorm is better. its more durable and can go faster with a few bucks.... its like i savage vs a tmaxx.... tmaxx is a hell of a lot faster stock but the savage will take it full speed into a wall.
a firestorm with a 2 speed mod could outrun a rustler. it may even do it stock, but it'd be pretty close. |

the rustler can also hit a tree and break into a million peices... im not saying its a bad car because its not... but from a durability standpoint a firestorm would be top pick. dont believe what a box says... the stock savage says 45+mph but will only hit around 37. also the firestorm is a single gear which gives it more power which is more important than speed for offroad. the firestorm will hit 35mph stock. dont expect a rustler to do more than 40 stock, especially with plastic drive shafts.
overall you will spend more time money fixing a rustler than a firestorm. the firestorm will take off faster and has great handling compared to the rustler... not to mention that i crash my firestorm into a lamp post at full speed and only spent 5 bux fixing it. |

Seems a lot of people blame the Firestorm's toughness on lack of speed.Are you then saying most of your broken parts come from FULL speed collisions?I hope not.Other wise you'd have a lot MORE broken parts.Most of the time when you break a part you had a bad landing off a jump or somthing of that type.Now,I realise there are a lot of variables,but I'll tell you this-I took my firestorm 10ft.+ airborne and bottomed out,landed on the batt. box,and nose diving bombards and have yet to find a broken part.
I just thought I'd say the real truth about them "to slow to break" arguements because MOST of the time we are not doing full speed collisions. |

i never said that the rustler wont go fast because of plastic drive shafts... jut those shafts break easier... and of all things the rustler may be faster than a firestorm but that has nothing to do to why it breks easier... when do you ever go full speed in a place that you can hit somthing like a tree very easily.... the only time i ever hit full speed is on pavement. besides just because its slower doesnt make it less likely to break
and why do you think the firestorm is more expensive than the rustler. a nitro rustler is 309 while a firestorm is 259. (LHS prices) if youre looking at an electric rustler or something then thats a different story. |

you pretty much have the 2 best for bashing in your thread... those are the 2 most popular for a reason :p the jato would be 3rd but its not much of a basher. if you dont like the firestorm and want something more durable than a rustler, the MT2 is just as durable as the firestorm and a little faster. also most xtm cars are good but you may have problems with your LHS carrying parts.

I would say the new XTM XST truggy. I checked one out and they look real good with awesome quality. Built a lot tougher then the Mammoth.

If you like very breakable plastic gears in your tranny then get a Traxxas. If you like a solid drivetrain with metal gears go with HPI. I don't care how fast it goes or how powerfull it is, if you have a weak drivetrain you will be spending lots of time fixing it. I have owned alot of different nitro rc's from traxxas, hpi, associated, duratrax, ofna, ect. and I can't complain one bit about the quality of HPI products. I can't say the same for traxxas.
