RE: Official RC10GT Thread

After inspecting the rc10gt in more detail I found a few things that need some attention. The truck has been sitting up for a while and the fuel line is mushy. Replacing that. I am going to take the engine apart and clean and pre lube it.

When I removed the clutch bell I found that it had 2 bushings and not bearings and there was alot of slop in them. What is the size bearings I need?

The little spacers on the back wheels that control the wheels base is missing on one side. Causing alot of back and forth play.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

Replaced the clutch bushings with bearings and changed the fuel lines. Put freah nitro in and whhaaaammmm fired right up. This pipe sounds very good.

Did not drive it waiting for a reciver pack to come in.

Only problem I am having is getting the starter box to work on this truck. It is very hard getting everything lined up. I may have to play with the placement of the little knobs on it.

Noticed that it would not hold a idle and was trying to lean out. Then I noticed that the fuel tank has a small crack on the top. Will this cause the lean condition.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

ya it could make it seem like its running lean.. basic air leak syptoms. is the box set up for the tc3 or the gt?

I wouldn't recommend it but for some reason (that was never found before the death of the engine) when i installed an AXE Rossi .12 in mine (an X3 i think) i had to block the pressure line with a screw, so yeh, GT tanks have always been very strange.

That an impossible question to answer if we dont know what you want out of it.
Do you have a side or rear exhaust?
whats your gearing? What sort of tracks will yuou race it on?
what sort of power delivery do you want?
What rules do you have to comply with?

The smoothie is a good pipe.
Heres the rules for pipes.

You want more low end, get a long skinny one, you want more top end get a short fat one. the ones with ripples are a gimmick and dual chambered pipes usually have good mid range.

What pipe do you have on atm?

this helps.

I am having a problem getting my servo saver to fit. I haveupgraded the steering assembly to all aluminum and there is no servo saver built in. so I bought one of the servo savers that is the servo arm/servo saver combo. the only problem is that it is too thick and is hitting the RPM reciever box. is there some way to make this fit besides drilling new holes in the chassis? I have just upgraded to a Hitech 645 steering servo and I don't feel like buying another ine after this on ebreak due to no saver!
Thanks

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

you could place the recever box back a little bit or just dremmel it a little .

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

If you have a decent servo the ball cups will pop off before the servo gears strip. the saver just makes your steering poor and lifeless.

I recently picked up a RC10GT off e-bay and have been having a blast until tonight.....I was running it in the dirt lot behind my house and it shut down and would not restart. I checked the glow plug, and made sure it was getting fuel. I did notice the air filter had slipped off the carb and was sitting near the tank. It feels like I may have lost some compression.. when I pull the glow plug and put my finger over the hole.

I have an O.S 15 engine, and dont know much about how to tear it down for inspection, or what to look for. Is there an online guide or FSM?? Sorry about being such a noobie, but this seems to be the place to find the info I need.

Here is a pic of my ride with the new shoes I scored on CL...

It comes with a roll around toolbox and a gear bag.

Accorgding to the seller it has some of the best stuff avaible for the rc10gt. Critisim is welcomed. That is the only way you can learn.. Not looking to race it just to bash. The mini I want to drop lipo into it with brushless. The t3 I hav no clue.
This one is for sale. Cheap. If anyone is intrested pm me with info....

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

does anyone know if RPM makes a front bulkhead for the GT? Its the only peice of plastic that is stock on my truck and I want to upgrade. or if there is an aluminum one available that would be fine too. it hasn't broke yet but if it does I want to have an upgraded part for it if there is one available.
Thanks

This is the front bulkhead i use on my car

http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi...=&part_id=2930

i know rpm does not make one, they do make the rear bulkhead.

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

Thanks toki, I'll have to order that if I ever break the factory one.

next question... how do you guys setup the slipper? I stripped an idler gear in the tranny( only plastic gear in the drivetrain) last night I think nits because the slipper was too tight. I just replaced the gear with a new one and I have an RRP idler gear on order. I have my slipper right now set at one turn from completely tight. is this right or should it be tighter or looser?
Thanks

Is this thread still alive?

I was just wondering the same thing. It has been a while since I have been on due to the fact that my RC10GT is trashed. I am still looking for a roller that has suspension parts included. Once I find one for a good price ill be back in action ( anyone happen to have one PM me LOL ).

So let's see some pics and get this thread going again.

Have any of you guys built a battery pack for the GT???? I'm interested, but don't know how to set them up or what material to use...

Sonolin 01-12-2009 04:23 PM

RE: Official RC10GT Thread

vg30dett93 (wow handful of a name you havet here ;)), why can't you just stick a regular batt pack where the AAs for the reciever go?? Or am I misunderstanding..?

You can also just use rechargable AAs.

Sup everyone, I'm new to the whole RC scene but my cousin whos been doing it for awhile has finally convinced me into trying them out....

Well needless to say after picking up two used RC10GT's (got a great deal), I am hooked..... I'm already upgrading one of them with all new parts from RPM, MIP etc...... upgraded the OS max engine to a O.S. Engines 18CV-RX(S) and bought several new clear bodies to customize to my liking...... Once I am done with installing all my upgrades and finish modding it I will post up pictures of before and after shots........
