RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
ORIGINAL: Barber420 ORIGINAL: quietnas1 ORIGINAL: Barber420 I still have the original RC10GT black tub chassis too! They're gettin' to be pretty rare nowadays. I think everyone ran the snot out of 'em long ago!:) It's still a great truck though, I've managed to keep mine in like new condition.;) Quietnas1, why did you sell the black tub chassis GT and keep the blue chassis? The black tub chassis version is a LOT more rare than the blue.[&:] |

ORIGINAL: quietnas1 ORIGINAL: MMT GUNS ORIGINAL: MCSRacing heyya guys!! if ya use the front wheel bearing adapter's from the hpi super star universal wheels the jato wheels will fit. and for the rear use the hpi rear wheel adapter's/ hex drives!! Damn those shock looks awesome on the GT. Thanks man if we all GT dudes chip in it gets more interesting, my thought tho. |
RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
Barber420 did you toque care of your clutch problem on your GT?
|
RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
Yeah, I just went with the 4 way clutch. It seems to work good, but I haven't really gotten to drive it much. The one way bearing in my Tiger Drive broke, and I haven't been able to replace it yet![:@] I've been working on other projects.[&:] I've got WWAAAAAYYYYYYYY too many RC's!!!!:) Hopefully, I'll be driving it around my track in a couple of weeks. Everything is all good to go besides the OWB.
quietnas1, I just looked at your pics; that thing is nuts. It's got the old style chassis with blue andonization, but all of the shock towers, arms, etc... are all GTplus/2 style![&:] Can't wait to see it all rebuilt. Interesting that it has the gold RC10T shocks on it. Looks like she was rode hard and put away wet, but that just makes it that much more satisfying when it's perfectly rebuilt!!:D |

RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
WOW, you must be making it into a shelf queen using all of that aluminium huh? I like GPM's stuff, but I will never use aluminium shock towers or a-arms on a driver, because they ALWAYS bend.[&:] Should look awesome when you get it done!![8D] Probably going to cost you a fortune though!!!:)

RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
Those were some great old school videos!!! It looks like it must have been filmed in the mid 80's right when this car came out. I'm a big fan of vintage AE stuff, just look at my sig:), and that was really cool to watch. You should post those in the RC10 Goldpan thread in the Off Road Electics forum!;)

Help please. |
RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
Check Tower, A-Main, and RC10.com. They may have most of the stuff. A lot of stuff from the GT plus and GT2 works on the original, but a lot doesn't too.

RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
I was reading in some other site about rare RC10GT definitely the blue tub chassis is a rare one and so is red tube chassis.
question : What would you guy's do if you have to decide between a bran new Scorcher and part for yore GT? |
RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
Well if you are rebuilding your GT i would stick with that. I had the money to get my dream truck. A Savage X 4.6. But i figured rebuilding my GT would be more fun for now. Plus I can get a Savage next year or get one used. This GT is going to be a 5 or 6 month project but I will post pics and details right here. Hey MMT GUNS you got a link to that web site with the info on the blue tub chassis and the red one. Hey by the way bro thanks for all your help.
|
RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
A red tub chassis?!!!!![&:] I've never seen or heard of one of those either! I'd be curious to see the production run numbers on the red and blue tub chassis' trucks. I wonder if they even made 1000 of each?
MMT Guns, if you are talking about getting an ORIGINAL Tamiya Sand Scorcher, I think they're coming out with reproduction models soon, I would definitely go with that over the GT part. Original Sand Scorchers go for BIG($1000's) money. I saw a NIB scorcher go for around $3500 on ebay several months ago!!!![X(] However, if you're debating between a re-release Scorcher or the GT I'd go with the GT. |

Must have RC10GT parts? here it is.

RE: Lets Talk RC10GT
The sand scorcher would definitely be a fun RC to have, but I thought maybe you'd found some fool selling the OG version for cheap!:) If that'd been the case I'd have said go with the Scorcher for sure!!!!!! However, since it's the new one you're talking about, you could go either way, it just depends on what you want more. I'm guessing the new model Scorcher should be identical, or real close, to the old one. Tamiya usually doesn't change anything noticeable on the re-re models.
