You need at least 3 airbrushes on hand and ready to go at all times! Harbor Freight sales a airbrush carasale that includes 6 brushs for about 100$ a great investment. ( low end brush but works well!)
After each use clean the airbrush and cup down!!!!
Dont stencil! freehand!
I use the med tip only! LOL for everything full size car to Rc car!
Get a larger detail gun for liquid mask.
I haveneverowned a big enoughcompressor!
The guest shower IS NOT A PAINT BOOTH!

practice does not make perfect, you most strive to make perfection the practice!

Default RE: Airbrushing tips needed.

stincels masking and cover sheets all will help.
you can mask an aria and use a midium or fine line to craete shadow near the mask it dosent have to be compleatly dark oyu want some of the background color to come threw the fade and dont shade all sides of the mask choose a light source and stay with it and try to balence the shadow to make it look real.
in other words if your first shadow is 1/4 inch wide try to make thim all that wide .
an air brush can work closer to your work with out making the paint run reduce the paint flow take your time and work at your pace the closer you put the brush the finer and sharper the line will be,and the farther away you are the oposet is true.
opining the flow at a distance will help cover a large aria evanley. (F.Y.I.)airbrush paint dryes much faster than ratil can paints except with matalic paint like silver /and gold.
paints will usawly have to be thind down a bit to flow smothly threw a gun. i mix 25% thiner to 75% paint for testers enamils if a paint is old i might mix 50/50 to help it threw the gun it should be like a light gun oil .speaking of witch its a good idea to cleen your gun with a good thiner and oil it between uses teflon spray works well to kee your gun clean.
use strate paint thiner threw the gun till no color comes out dump the rest and run the gun til its dry be sure to open and close the paint regulater a few times to clear all the paint with the thiner befor you dry the gun once its dry take it apart and use thiner and some small pipe cleaners and an old tooth brush to clean the gun throly spray it dry againthin spray it with the teflon spray and put it in a ziplock bag till you are ready to use it again .win you are redy to paint just run aome thiner throu it and start painting.
hope this helps.P.S. sory about the spelling.
