I have only built beginner grade cars in the past, such as Tamiya TL and more recently, TT-02D. I've followed sports car racing and Formula 1 for nearly two decades. So I thought why not apply those aerodynamic knowledge that I know of to an RC car?
So I decided to get myself a mid-level grade car, a TA-05 Ver. II. This was chosen due to the easiness of installing a cooling fan for the motor, as well as it is "mid-engined", providing close if not exact 50-50 distribution for balance. TA06 has its motor mounted on the rear in an enclosed case, whilst the TB-04 has its motor positioned slightly rear-ward.
It is an ambitious project as it is my first professional grade car, but nonetheless I stuck my head down in creating my first aero kit.
Originally the TA-05 Ver. II chassis came with the Honda Raybrig body shell, but I decided to ditch that as the body length is too short, and that the front doesn't look low and aerodynamic enough for my project. I decided to get myself an FXX body from online, as the FXX offers one of the most aerodynamic body, as well as lowest drag-coefficient.
Here are the photographs of the car:
