A hole saw works wonders.
Make sure you put it against a block of timber & don't press hard. Let the saw do the work.

I use the OLFA Circle Cutter. It is basically a compass with a razor where the pencil would be. 7 bucks at the LHS. BEst money i ever spent. Makes perfect wheel well cutouts on touring cars too!

I use a socket (you know for turning nuts and bolts) and trace the circle on the inside of the window. I then drill a few small holes within the circle then break out the Dremel tool. I usually use a cone shaped sharpening bit to get it just to the edges then put on a sanding barrel to get the circle just right. I use the same method for all the holes in the body.

You cant get it at towerhobbies. Most LHS's stock it, and art supply stores as well as craft stores have them too. Just make sure u get the small one, not the big one.

Here is a picture of the one you want - sells for about 7.00USD

Here are some links online to purchase it:

shozz - I think they will, but not sure. If they do, make sure u get only the one in the picture, the other versions, with a cutting wheel will not produce the same, good results.

yeah michaels carries a cutter like the one in the picture. I picked mine up for under 4 bucks with one of those 40% coupons they always run in the sunday paper. The cutter is red though instead of yellow.

I have an Olfa circle cutter, but I still prefer a hole saw, it almost error proof, and a heck of alot easier.

shozz - only do one pass. otherwise it wont come out right. u dont want to actually cut the body, just score it. then, use the blade to cut about an inch, and the rest will just peel out

I have what nitro addict has - but sometimes I use a body reamer instead. Just do multiple whole in a row.

I used a regular pocket knife to cut out my friends and it turned out just fine. You just have to have a steady hand and pretty sharp knife. ofcourse, he has a big rectangle instead of a circle but its in the center and i recommend putting a small recangle on the back windshield up at the top to allow air to escape. Ive also seen a cutting tool shaped like a pencil that has fin type things. the point is sharp along with the fins.

The OLFA circle is a good tool, except its a pain in the butt trying to keep it steady when your making the circle..
