Default Stipe Problem

I am going to paint a new body and I need some advice. I want to do a black body with red stripes, but have thin silver stips to seperate the red & black. I also want to use silver as the backing layer. I was wondering if i can just paint the rest of the body then remove the thin strips and do my backing, or if i should actually focus on the silver stipes before I do the backing. The reason I am asking is because I thought that if I remove the tape at the very end, it might be on a different level because all of the other layers of paint.

any responce would be great.

paint black first, then red then back with silver and fill in silver parts at the same time.
remember that black does not need to be backed if done properly
