I'm a big fan of orange and black, so I'm biased towards that one. Here's my latest with those two colors; I love how it turned out:

that turned out good. the top of the skyline would acually be like matellic copper color. but orange and blach does look sharp.

i personally like the blue and white one. has a bit more contrast to it than just having a black base.

nice job bcmorris, did you forget to paint the wing or did that on purpose? And venom_racing, I think that the RX-7 is a better choice. Although you can use that design on the the skyline since the skyline body is a little nicer

I do most of my wings clear. I find them incredibly annoying to airbrush due to their small size that makes them hard to hold onto. After I saw a racer at my local track running a clear wing, I thought it looked nice and decided to do that myself in the future. Next up, a painted wing and clear body.

Yes, it's a joke. That would only look slightly ridiculous.

thanks for the advice, i like the idea of doing the blue, silver and white design on the skyline body. I'll print out another template and see how it looks.

I also prefer the blue and white, but I think the copper/black design on the Skyline would look good if the black followed the lines of the bodykit.

Thanks for the comp! Normally I'm a big fan of symetry as well, but I really like the two offset stripes. A cobra body looks great with the two symetrical white stripes down the center. I also normally work in odd numbers ... the blue being one element, 1 white stripe, 1 silver = 3 elements ... it's the graphic designer in me.

I think that's what's so kewl about this forum, is seeing how everyone does stuff differently.

Have you finished that body yet Venom???

heh its funny you mention that. i too am in grpahic design and i have found it interesting that the things you learn in school as to what are balanced images and visually pleasing, don't always go along with what the public finds it to be. i have had a number of assignments where the teacher will give it a good grade but my friends wont like it and vise versa hehe.

i personally find that 3 element design to be a nice balance witht he thicker stipe offsetting the smaler one so it doesnt feel so weighted.

i know you said when you had it masked off it looked wierd, but keep in mind, it will almost always look a bit wierd because the tape will make it look like your perportions are all wrong. i just recently did one where when i had it taped off it was wierd but it always reveals a nic elook when done.
