Default Painting aluminum?

I want to paint my aluminum chassis and some other aluminum parts. I want to do some kind of cool design. Anyone have any suggestions on what kind of paint or any prep suggestions? It is for nitro. All parts are already stripped of finish. Thanks in advance. Any info would help.

I would imagine that you would need to sand the area you wanted to paint with some real fine sandpaper so the paint has something to adhere to. Dunno, just guessin.

i dont know how well normal paint will stick to aluminum. its kinda tricky. you'll definitely need to look into what kind of paints are made for aluminum. get a high quality paint.

Rough the surface up a bit and degrease.

Spray with suitable primer.

Spray your final design.

Simple :-)

try using an etch-primer for a better base, use as few colour coats as possible, and use plenty of clearcote, but make sure you do each coat very thin for better toughness, also sand between coats for a good key coat to coat..

Try doing some pin striping. Looks awesome and no prep work.
