Default girlfriend's Bimmer

Hey everyone!

Here's some pics of the BMW M3 body I am just about finished with--I still have to put the wing on (still drying). Tell me what you think! She picked out the color, and requested the graphic, so I drew it out for her and hand painted it on. I am hoping that she will want to take out the rc's more often now .

Looks good!

With the hobby still strongly growing and more and more girls entering into it, we're bound to have to paint more and more girly shells.
Nothing wrong with that.

Updated Pics:

Well, I got the wing on. Thanks for the compliments! here's some new pics as of about 2 mints ago. I gave my g/f a pretty hard time about painting an M3 pink-- I told her that it wouldn't look very good, and that painting a BMW pink was defacing the car. Boy was I wrong! I have to admit myself- it did turn out a lot better than I thought. BTW-- she is thrilled about it and loves it!

Thanks for the comments! Today I bought a new receiver for it, and programmed it (the old was was pretty twitchy). I charged all my batteries, and we're planning on taking it for a "test drive" tommorrow. I also bought a new antenna mast for it(pink), and as a result of the new receiver, the rose bud had to go.

I told her about what you guys have been suggesting about keeping the rose bud and getting a green antenna mast, but she said she likes it better the way it is now. Hopefully I can get the pics to upload this time.

Yeah, she gets what she wants-- i'm used to it lol.
carmatic1- I just used a very thin paintbrush to outline the rose in black, and just compensated for the ridges in the hood grilles to make the lines as straight as possible. It really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I had the rose drawn and painted on in 2 nights while sitting in front of the TV.

LOL -- your right about her wanting a real BMW. Ever since high school she's wanted one. I keep telling her to save her pennies and she can buy one

i was just reading thru http://www.cptnet.com/ken/faq.html#transfer and it reminded me of your paintjob... one thing tho you wont be able to do it with the grills on your bonnet... like, its a stick on tattoo , but maybe if you filled in the grills with something that sets transparently , and smooth it out with a soft piece of plastic or something so that its perfectly flat on the inside

That does kind of look like what I did, only the guy said the temp. tatts have a tendency to crack, whereas I painted that on and hopefully (unless she slams it into something[:@]) won't crack.
