To my knowledge the Spazstix Mirror Chrome is the best one out there. Are you trying to use it on the outside of something? Because I tried that on some light buckets and they did come a bit silver, but when I put it on a scrap piece of lexan, it looked more chrome since the lexan acts as a clear coat and deflects the light differently.

the chrome paints go on silver and become reflective as it dries . Remember light coats , not too close to the body, let each coat dry , several coats , back w/ black . Also there is another brand "Alclad II"

Clear is for the clearcoat over the chrome if using it to paint something externally. Backing the chrome with black when used on the inside of a lexan body helps chrome stand out better.
I just used a can of Spaz chrome that was 3 years old and it came out pretty good.

same thing happened to me using alclad II - looked silver not chrome. I gave it a second chance on another body, this time I shot very light coats allowing dry time between coats. Four coats followed by black and the chrome looked excellent.

Spaz or alclad both look great. Tips are great for painting chrome. Light coats, dry between coats, back with black. Backing is were the chrome POPS. If your looking for the brushed metal look instead of chrome, back with white. If you look at your mirrors at home, the back is black.
Also remember, any little scratch will show up were you paint chrome. Be careful not to scratch the body were you want the chrome. And ofcourse, spray the paint in a well ventalated area. If you dont your libal to get loopy

Here are a couple pictures of the Cuda I did using Spaztix chrome light coats backed with black. The car color is purple but looks blue under certain lighting conditions.

This shows the purple better.
