From: peebles, OH,
Hey Dave and guys, my son and I are planning on hitting the contest season this year and I'm in the process of getting time off work for the season. Working in the medical field I have to plan my time off way in advance. We are planning on going to imac nats, pattern nats, and f3a worlds as well. Any news on contest dates would be appreciated! Nice to see your 8yo take up your sport. Toby Silhavy

Hi Toby,
I can give you one date. The Ohio Valley Pattern Classic is being scheduled for Aug 27 and 28 in St.Clairsville Ohio. You can search the contest and find many great pics of previous events. Glad to have you on board!

I agree. Right about this time of the year I start thinking that living in Florida or California would be nice...I am normally able to sneak in a flight or two with one of my parkfliers during the winter; not so this year. The last time I flew was around Christmas time and I was pushing it a little. Can't wait for spring.

Ah Teo! Ihave my SeeBee in the car as we speak. Four days of 50F temps and our snow on the west side is all but gone. If I can GET (must drive throughabout 1/4 mile offarmers field)to the field, I will fly today! Gale warnings? Pfffffft!
EDIT: Farmer's field flooded. Could not get to the flying field.

Hi Verne,
Build? Who builds anymore?
I just thought everyone flew ARF's...On a more serious note, I am thinking about moving up into intermediate. If I remember correctly, you mentioned that it would be a good idea if I attended a judging seminar so that I could help out just everyone else does. Any idea of when the next nearby seminar might be?
Thanks,
Teo

Teo,
From what I understand, the plan is to have a Judging seminar at the D4/ D5 shootout on the morning of May 21. Do the Seminar and then fly 2 rounds Saturday and then fly 2 more rounds on Sunday. Michael and I are planning on attending.

Rick,
Thanks for the info. I will have to ask for permission from the authorities for this one. I checked the distance down to Hebron KY and it wold be a rather long drive at about 6.5 hours or so. For me living in Michigan it is also rather early in the season so I may only have a couple of practice sessions under my belt that early in May.
Thanks,
Teo

Teo, you really need to put the D4 Championships in Hebron on your calendar. Saturday night steaks so big my wife and I share one and put the other in the cooler to take home, and it feeds us for a week!
Nice contest, too.

Oops. Got my dates confused. The Hebron KY contest is the weekend before. O.K. Now I need to check on Muncie. Thanks for correcting me.
Teo
Just checked, it is a much shorter drive at around 4 hours or so. O.K. Now the negotiations start. Anyone know a good florist or jewler?
