Well rumour has it that the 2 Meter Vanquish is finally on the slow boat from China. This should be a great lower cost pattern ship. The manual has also shown up on-line in the Japanese market. Like all EF manuals it is very well done. The Vanquish appears to have a lot of great features.
Here is a link to the manual, it gives a good idea about the plane, and it's features.

kudos to the guys at Extreme Flight! That is a great manual, I think many can learn from it, even if they will not buy this plane.
Also kudos for the completeness of the plane, impressive!

I talked to Chris at the Southeast Model Show and he said they were on the boat he expected receipt of the first shipment in April. They should be just in time for my birthday!

I was under the impression that this plane would be able to use a YS engine as well. Is this the case or are they planning a seperate version for glow??

As I recall, they were at the 2007 Toledo show. That's where I saw the original Vanquish. Try e-mailing them and ask if they're attending.

Even if they are there this year, I doubt you would be able to pick up one at the show. The show is only a couple of weeks away and if the planes are getting on the boat anyday now, which I have confirmed from talking to Chris. Then it would be unrealistic for them to be here and clear customs in that amount of time.

Mike,
Talked with Chris at Perry and he stated the price would be ~ $650.00. If my recall is correct that is the same price as stated in the magazine article last year.

Well, $650 sounds pretty reasonable. Lets hope it flies well enough and is light enough to fill that gap between planes like the Wind 110 and the high dollar 2m ARFs out there. If it does, I'll be getting one myself.

OK, I just got off the phone with Chris at Extreme Flight and got some information and his permission to pass it along. The planes should be here sometime in mid-late April. Possibly before, but that is a realistic date. They will be electric only and both color schemes will be available. The initial price point is going to be 650.00. They will be offering a Torque outrunner as well. I have one that will be coming once they arrive and plan to do a full build thread on here and in the K-factor.
For anyone wandering, the initial delays were making sure everything was exactly how it should be with the plane, as well as slammed with orders for their other aircraft.
I'm looking forward to seeing it as I think it will be very beneficial for pattern.

I expect we'll see alot of these (both electric and glow) competing in Sportsman and Intermediate next year. Thye market needs a good low xost 2 meter plane to replace the Focus.

What would be a suggested powertrain (ESC+motor)? When this plane is electric only there will be a lot of electric "newbie's" so advice is welcome.
Let the suggestions roll in!!

Volkert,
Extreme Flight will be selling an outrunner motor that is designed for the plane. That is what I will have in mine when I do the build thread. The idea is to be able to make weight with a low cost outrunner and the cheaper/heavier batteries.
The lighter more expensive stuff will make weight even easier. I don't see any issues making weight after talking with Chris today,

I'm hoping yours will be done to show at the precision flying clinic we are planning for April 16th down at the Sea World Field. I'd love for people to get a look at one. There will be lunch served free for everone as well. keep me posted.
The first EMAC is two weeks after the clinic, I know yours will be done by then.
Steve
