Default Andersonville, GA contest- D3 6-4-11

Hey Folks,

We are a week away from the Andersonville, GA contest (June 4-5th, 2011) that is held at Mac Hodges' field. The entry fee will be $30 and will include a pizza lunch on Saturday. I would like to invite everyone to come and fly at one of the nicest fields around that just happens to also have one of the nicest hobby shops around. I am planning on watching an outdoor movie Saturday night.

We are also planning a judging clinic early Saturday evening so that those of us going to NATS can satisfy that requirement.

Please let me know if I can answer any question.

Hope to see you there,
Emory Schroeter.

Hey Gregg,

It's 260 miles. How have you been doing? I have been down here in Florida busy as hell with this watermelon deal. I don't even have time to fly on the weekends right now. Chris will be coming up with Larry Loucks and all you guys are going get to have fun without me and that really sucks.

You guys take care and talk to you soon.

LOL Thanks Keith, I knew I could count on you.

I wish it were that easy, you'd think being the owner I could take off whenever I want , one problem.

I have to talk a friend of mine into working for me or the shop has to close. I'm also the Service Manager, the techs don't know how to write service.

My techs and I have an agreement. I don't fix cars and they don't talk to customers. Trust me, it's best this way.

Hey Guys,

It looks like it will be a nice weekend, but it's gonna be HOT! I sure Mac won't mind if we come inside the shop to soak up some air conditioning. Bring your wallet and some water.

Hey Tim, I sent you a PM. Let me know if you got it and if you need anything else.

We had 27 pilots in four classes (no FAI) come to compete in Andersonville. Thanks to everyone who came to fly! Here are the scores from the contest...

This was a typically well-run contest by Emory.

He tried some new ways to run the lines, by having the Master class split into two groups to start the contest and had them on two flightlines. As a pilot finished a flight, he moved over to the end of the other line. That way, two rounds of the Master class were complete before the other classes flew. Then he did a similar procedure with the Sportsman, Intermediate and Advanced classes. Six rounds were easily completed shortly after noon on Sunday.

My only complaint: Too $#@! HOT.

Ron Van Putte
