Default Zen 30 with OS .46 fx?

I'm thinking of getting the WM Zen 30 and putting a os .46 fx on it. What do you all think?

If you can fit the engine inverted without problem(s), I think there should not be a problem.

Make sure the check the length of the engine compared to OS 32SX, 52FS, YS 53/63 etc. You may need some weight in the back for balancing.

Hope this helps,

Hello Nik,

I am running my Zen 30 with a OS 46 fx. I have just run it for a short period of time, but it is going great. I have just put approx. 30g(1.2oz) lead at the tail to compensate the weight of the engine. The prop is a MasterAirScrew 11x6(not tested anything else).
Great quality kit from "The World Models"!!

I have just aquired a zen 30. This plane is built great. Some minor glue joints need good apoxy but other than that it is great. I plan on running an OS 40 FP with a 12.5x3.75 prop. yes i had to bend and brace the landing gear to get the prop clearance. but i think it will do good.

By the way this thing is built strong.

Nik! Sounds like you are onto your next project. Good man!

Do you already have the 46FX? If so, I am sure it will work well- (as mentioned above-) but if you are shopping for engines as well, you should consider the Webra-32, Irvine-39, and OS-32SX- Keeping the overall weight down and limiting any CG difficulties! (more $$ though [X(])

I do not have the Zen-30 but I love my Zen-50 YS-63 combo.... These planes are HIGH quality and I am sure you will enjoy yours-

Regards,
james

with a 46 bolted up front that would be a blast to fly with lots of power to spare...
down side is the high landing speed because of the high wing loading...
but if you fly from a huge area with a long runway... that should not be much of a problem.
cheers
