ok, im looking for a good upright monted engine or side mounted engine pattern plane..... 40-60 size... i would like to have some in the area of 58-69" i was looking at the venus but that has inverted mounted engine... i see some people have mounted it sideways... any thoughts? i really would like the engine to be mounted normally....but i guess if it has to be sideways that would be ok...
p.s. im also looking for something that wont break the bank ... $180 tops....

Venus should not have any problem with side mounted engine.
If you don't mind a little work for side mounting, go for it. You may need to add a little weight to the left wing, but it depends on how the plane flies.
Some of Birdie (spelling?) kits mount the engines up right.
Any plane can have side or upright mounted engine although they are designed for inverted mounting for enclosed engine and look. Very slight or no difference in drag when the engine head sticks out of the fuse.
